Any out there, or do I convert to Nicks electromotive. Intermittant loss of bank isolated to Digiplex. ECU Doctors 675 to ftry and fix if what is not working can be replaced.

They show up on the web (eBay/Craigs List) fairly regularly. I have seen them for about $150 each, and up.

    Sometimes WAY UP. Just Nuts.

You sure? I mean 100% sure?

A VERY common part failure is a bad crank sensor which gives this symptom.

    Tommy,

And as I have been told, it is NOT the sensor itself going bad, but the wiring connection.

and at around $100, it is far less expensive to replace these rather than messing with that ECU.

Either way, the crank sensor IS going to fail eventually. That is a given. If it were me I would replace these just anyway if I were having this symptom. One of mine crapped out on me in Atlanta - 200 miles from home. Don't let this happen to you.

    My 84 has 3

I would guess your 83 does too but I am not certain.

All 308 injected cars all have three senders. The 328s have just two.

I thought 84 has two, one for each bank and the third one is for the tach sensor?

Thanks for all the input and all three crank sensors have been replaced with SEN 8 D recently did not fix the problem 1-4 = 706, 5-8 = 690, and Tach = 687, Both hot and cold readings. I have been working my way up stream, replaced the wires with Magnecore spiral 7mm, then the coils, timing belts and Hill Engineering Bearings, cleaned all frame and engine grounds, grounded both digiplex units and coils, new Bosch battery, and last week installed Birdman's fuse blocks and the intermittent miss was still there. It was when I verified with a timing light the miss and complete loss of timing was fully visible. Switched digiplex units car ran flat would rev but significant loss of power. Depending on which bank a certain digiplex is running with the vacuum line connected the timing mark at low RPM is retarded -8 BTDC or the second mark to the right of TDC on the flywheel. When I disconnect the vacuum and plug the throttle body, the timing becomes stable and at 1,000 RPM reads +/- 5 ATDC and at +/- 2,800 RPM reads 20 ATDC for both banks with very little fluctuation. Any thoughts would be helpful, thanks again to all who have posted here on Fchat as over the past five years of ownership countless pots of coffee and the search function I have learned how to tackle all necessary routine maintenance items and then some Priceless.
