For sale in Luxemburg: http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/128646/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63 Don't see too many of them! Love that colour on a 550. Below is a different car in the same colour, that one was for sale a couple of years ago in the US. I loved the photography, brought out the colour very well. my porsche is that exact color. you do not see many exotic cars in that color though. I personally find it doesn't always work but looks great on the 550.
My 456M is Ingrid/cuoio/sabbia. IMO, Ingrid works well with cuoio, sabbia and tan interiors. The Luxembourg car's interior is black, which doesn't strike me as a good color match.
I like grigio Ingrid. I think it gives the 550/575 a bit of a reptilian look...which is a *good* thing. Jack.
These cars seem to look fine in most colours, which is unusual. This Grigio Ingrid is gorgeous. This is the first one I've seen. Nice photography helps.
......for every 'lover' there's a 'hater'......I actually much prefer the look of the stock 550 wheels over those; IMHO they are more in keeping with the classic, flowing lines of the car......not so 'busy' with the fasteners..... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lovely color. I still remember the first time I saw a Grigio Ingrid Ferrari in person. It was a 360 Modena in Modena ever since that moment, it's one of my favorite F colors.
That is a great color. I can just picture it on a rolling green Concours field years from now, or even now. Stunning!
Beautiful! I used to own a Grigio Ingrid/Sabbia 456M... one of the prettiest cars I've ever seen in person. It's even better on the 550s!
In case you didn't already know '375 MM "Ingrid Bergman Sergio Scaglietti and his Carrozzeria Scaglietti were commissioned by director Roberto Rossellini to custom build a one-off version of the 375 MM with custom bodywork for his wife, actress Ingrid Bergman. This design later became the inspiration for the car which would be named after Scaglietti himself, the Ferrari 612. Ms. Bergman wasn't too fond of the car, or of Rossellini's love for Ferraris in general. As a curiosity, the colour that was chosen for this amazing masterpiece was unique and not available for the other Ferrari models. It was the intention of Roberto Rossellini to utilize a colour that could be compared to that of Ingrid Bergman's eyes. This colour is now available for all production Ferraris under the name "Grigio Ingrid."
The "original" grigio Ingrid does not appear to be the same as the modern color of the same name. I wonder if the color formula has changed since the Bergmann car, or if it's just that my eyes are going off.
That last part surprised me; my understanding was that she had been allowed to mix the paint color herself; nothing to do with her eyes. I also think her eyes were blue, like azzuro california.
My source: http://www.ferrari-wiki.com/wiki/Ferrari_America#375_MM_.22Ingrid_Bergman.22 But after a bit of research I now believe you are correct about the blue eyes, makes an interesting story though.
Either story may be better than the reality. Could be that Il Commendatore just told Scaglietti to come up with something that he thought an elegant woman like Bergman might fancy.
