any questions? I don't think anyone can argue this one http://share.gbvnet.ro/bucket/opera%202011-06-14%2019-39-05-02-new.gif
Didn't he do another similar one on Webber and/or Button when the three of them were battling? His overtake of Hamilton at Monaco was also a good opportunistic move.
C'mon...he's still got it! It was a fantastic drive. He still brings it...no doubt about it. They say rain shows how good the driver is instead of how good the car is...like Vettel in Monza for his first win. I guess that makes MS the 4th best driver on the grid lol
Peter, unless MS is driving a Ferrari, Andreas will never give him credit. He is too hurt the fact that MS was going to come back with Ferrari and then went to Mercedes at the last minute.
+1 no worries though. I have a feeling MB won't be owning the field next year either, but if Schu were to retire again today he would have the respect of the entire field for that drive last Sunday not to mention his persona being the definition of persistence. Truly amazing drive and he would have zero to be ashamed of. Had it kept wet he would have won that race hands down. He was that good. Class dismissed.
Vettel, Hamilton and Schu are the rain masters of the present crop of drivers. Alonso used to be ok too - but lately he seems to have lost his touch in the wet.
Thanks. MS drove great in the rain, no question, but calling him "The Emperor" and the other WDCs in the field "apprentices" is a stretch. Particularly when looking at the current WDC points standings. MS did so well for a variety of reasons: - he loves this track - he is good in the rain - he had a wet weather setup on the car (my guess, but that's how interpret the rise and fall of performance of the car) - some key players were no longer in the game (Alonso, Hamilton) So he roled the dice and looked like a winner (well at least 2nd) until the track dried up. That said he blew Rosberg into the weeds. And that to me is much more important than passing a few cars with the wrong setup. Lets see whether the trend continues or not.
That's all you can judge him on. So do you think he suddenly learnt how to drive on Sunday, and now he'll forget by the next race? lol
Respect for what he did and still does. Unfortunately not as often as he used to ... This was another fine moment for any F1 fan. That's what we want to see ... all day long.
If the car is right, he will. If not, it will be more of the same. I fear the latter will continue to happen during qualifying while race trim will be about equal as it has been this year. He qualified .050 behind Nico this past weekend, hardly anything I would call a 'beat-down' IMO though. That time frame is the difference between one driver not having a breeze down a straight and the other not. Too close
