I have only had one ticket for not running a front plate on my car.
The half day I spent dealing with it is enough for me to make sure I am ALWAYS with a front plate.

    That being said--

There are not many reliable/pretty solutions for a front plate on a 308.
I did some snooping around and came across a post with a link for http://chairpilotproducts.com.
No one seemed to excited about it.

    How can you not be?!

It is a bit pricey, but if you want to run a front plate cause 1) its the law 2) dealing with the fix-it ticket is a pain in the aschen and pays for itself 10-fold if your time is valuable.

"Bob" makes them by hand and makes them to order.
    Only takes a few days.

Now I just have to decide if I want the plate centered or off to the side...

Why not simply screw it onto the bumper, where it is supposed to sit (and doesn't interfere with cooling)? There's even a nice indent there for a number plate...

The holes on my bumper are not set to fit a us license plate.
I did not want to drill new holes.

Double-sides tape - the stuff with a bit of foam in between - works very well. No need to drill...

I use one on my 328.

Works perfectly, and when I'm parked somewhere that I care about the look of the car, it's easily removable. I toss it in the trunk and put it back on when I leave.

    Cheaper than the ticket.
