I'm thinking of selling my 1977 308 GTB! I love this car and I cant believe i'm thinking of saying good bye. I just don't have the time to enjoy it. Last year I only put 500 miles on her.
Its a beautiful car, runs great, really fun to drive; I just cant justify it now.

    What should I do? Tom

Well of course the simple answer is to just drive more :)

Seriously though, even 500 miles per year is better than zero. There are a handful of folks in the 308/328 section thinking the same thing you're thinking. An important question to ask yourself is, why did you get the 308 in the first place and does that still apply now?

Advertise it for sale here, in the FerrariAds section, and also advertise it on Ferrari Life.

Avoid craigslist, autotrader etc., unless you welcome a look of idiots coming to see it.

It was an opportunity 5 years ago, a customer/friend needed to sell the 308 and I couldn't resist. I've always liked the look of the 308, but didn't know much other then about the cars. I have become very attached to it and Carlo keeps it up to date for me. The 308's are a great starting point in the Ferrari world.

    Tom,

If you are serious about selling it I'd try a few things. Like was mentioned above, subscribe here and you can post a free ad. Put it up in a few other spots to get it out there. I'd also suggest talking with Roy about possibly consigning it with them. He might even have someone looking for a car like yours? You never know.

I remember meeting you a couple times at ERTC, it's a nice looking car!

Hi John, Good to here from you. Most of my driving was down the hill to ERTC. I love owning and driving the car. The real reason I'm considering selling the white one is I have my Redmond home listed for sale because my wife and I have purchased a wonderful full time home in Hood River Oregon. I think I will fit in better with my 71 VW bus. Its going to hard to load up the 308 with all my windsurfing gear.

I did consider contacting Roy and I still may! The only problem is that he would talk me into a Lambo trade.

I like the classic looks of the 308/328. It's too bad my 6'2" frame and size 14 shoes don't fit well enough to make it an enjoyable drive.

I'm 5'-9" and still have a little room. I do fell your pain however; its got to be hard to heel/toe with those size 14!

If you're still in the Redmond area, it would be awesome if you brought it to the Exotics at Redmond Towncenter cars and coffee events on Saturday mornings.

Although you can't advertise it for sale there, it would give folks a chance to look it over.

Subscribe and put an ad on Ferrariads. If you get a legitimate offer then maybe it's meant to be. If not then maybe you are meant to keep it!

Its like getting down on one knee and asking for a proposal. She might say yes; and that scares me. I lifted the cover today to take a peek and she really looks nice! The problem is that I have been spending time with the German white one.

Sorry Kie, I have been in Oregon and still don't know if I want to sell. I can only afford a few fun toys at a time, so I may just keep the 308 and the bus. Up keep is not bad on either one. The cool thing is this allows me two completely different driving styles. Plus I can take the wife's 330 BMW out any time I want for a modern feel. You had also asked if I like Italian motorcycles! I don't know; I've owned a Honda 750 Saber road bike, way back when. I seem to just have more fun on my mountain bike pushing the trails in the Gorge.

Wow, nice Ducati! Kie, just stop it; You must know that Red is my favorite color. I'm still in Hood River Oregon and didn't make the ERTC today. Hoping to sell our Redmond home and make a new full time life in the Gorge. Lots of nice roads for a two wheeler ride however. Thanks for the inspiration!

Did you see the 22 window VW Bus that sold for $198,000 at the BJ auction over the weekend!!

World record price. Crazy money for it.

I saw Roy on TV standing behind the owner of the bus, who was smiling ear to ear about
    the insane selling price.

No worries Tom. I've got a ton of 2-wheeled finery to offer up towards your car. I thought maybe this one would get the juices flowing. An '08 1098S with almost every doodad from the Ducati Performance catalogue bolted on there. 1k miles. The bike and all the stuff were over $30k when new 3 years ago.

Very nice splitty. Too nice to drive, cant even camp in that one. Its just a mini van for hauling the kids around. Just think if it had the 23rd window, could have gone for more! Things are looking up for my fat chick "Bay Window".

I have to say I've never really been a huge VW fan but your little bus is not only stunning, but looks pretty cool too. I bet it gets almost as much attention as the 308!
