For a while my 328 has not felt quite right at the front. Its not really an audible clunking or knocking but its more just a feeling of a knock via the pedals and steering like something has some play.
It happens when driving relatively slowly over uneven surfaces, it does not happen at speed or over large bumps.
Decided to have a look and went all over the front end, prising all ball joints, bushes, anti roll-bar mountings etc etc but cant find anything wrong at all. I also checked in case anything heavy (battery, rad etc) was loose but cant find anything at all so rather baffled.
The only thing I can think of are the dampers but thats a lot of outlay if it turns out not to be the cause.
    Any ideas welcome...

    Hi Andy,

When i got my 308, i had all kinds of noises. I had old worn out rubber a arm bushings and sway bar bushings, particularly the drop links from the bar to the a arms. I got all of this replaced with graphite/poly and still had some noises. After shock replacement, the noises went away.

In order, i would check the drop links, bar mounts, shock rubber bushings, steering rack bushings, tie rod ends, a arm attachment bolts, a arm bushings, shocks, ball joints.

At worst, you won't find the noise, but you will have a better idea of what needs maintenance, at best, you will get rid of the noise by just tightening up a loose bolt.

    Good Luck,
    chris
