You wanna talk about scary! Why doesn't Jones quit. He's not going to have a brain cell left. That last punch is sickening. Smoger will catch hell for letting that happen, but he's the best ref out there for letting a fight reach a conclusion. I think he's the best because of that, consequences be damned.

Yes, it was competitive up until the stoppage. 10 seconds left in the 10th and final round. Sadly, that may encourage him further.

I didnt actually watch the Hopkins fight, I forgot I had the Restored Car Club meet I had to attend. :):)

I just read the news, I knew Hopkins was on a mission. Congrats to the new champ! :D:D

Also, I was also right about RJJ. Well, it ALMOST made it to the cards and it would have been unanimous to Lebedev.

I read a little bit about it and it sounds like Jones Jr was on the back foot all night and they knockout was very, very nasty!! Glad to see he is ok and I hope he hangs up the gloves! :(:(

Even though Pascal stunk it up, and was a lame opponent, still have to marvel at Hopkins. To preform like that on a world class level is incredible. I thought Hopkins was in his head before and during the fight. Pascal was totally intimidated.

Looks like Mayweather and Ortiz in September! This might not be a bad fight. If Ortiz fights with the determination he had against Berto, he could give Mayweather some trouble.

Mayweather hand picks his opponents. He's such a Pu**Y. ofcourse he'll beat Ortiz. Ortiz is perfect for him.

    +1

It will be a paid sparring session where he sells an exhibition of his boxing skills on pay-per-view :)

Why doesn't he step up and fight Pacquiao ??

I hear what your saying, and agree. But this is not a junk fight like the previous "big fights" Ortiz is not old, slow, and small, and is a credible opponent given the current crop. He is a little crude, and easy to hit which will probably be his undoing. The talk is this could very well be a prelude to Mayweather vs. Pacqiauo, as Ortiz is an aggressive southpaw like Pacqiauo. If Mayweather is looking for a warm up this is perfect. Mayweather will be 34 and will not have fought for 16 months. I know long layoffs haven't phased him in the past but we can HOPE! :)

My thoughts exactly. 16 months is a long time, but he is still THAT good to ready and in shape.

But he may also take the fight lightly, so ya just never know. :D:D

    No, no, no... :D

What you really want is for Mayweather to crush Ortiz. That way, he'll think he's ready for Pacqiauo, so that next fight will be given the go ahead - and it's that fight that will be really interesting.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Ortiz is a dangerous, fast southpaw who is big for the weight, can punch, and is just coming off of the biggest victory of his career. This is not a gimme fight for Floyd by any means.

Pac has been doing the handpicking post 130, sticking to guys coming off of bad losses or guys who were never that good to begin with. His last 3 fights were against Shane Mosley (coming off of a vicious beating at the hands of Floyd), Antonio Margarito (coming off of a career-ending beating at the hands of Mosley), and Joshua Clottey (coming off of nothing, and will never amount to anything). Ortiz is better than any of those guys.. and watch for Pac to fight Ortiz next, after Floyd beats him.

Floyd had the contract signed and ready to go. He agreed to every stipulation Pacquiao presented, including the glove size and $10 million per lb weight penalty. His stipulation was the blood tests (which Ortiz has agreed to, incidentally). Pacquiao walked away from the fight over that.

If that doesn't make you suspicious, I don't know what to tell you ..

Been a long time since a heavyweight fight has even been worth mentioning. The Klitschko Haye fight is a head scratcher. What's everybody think?

Will be interesting. Only because Haye has been talking it up for years. I think Klitschko is too big and strong and will dominate.

Errrrr, just like he always does. :p:p

Ill catch it if im not working.

I agree 100% on this. Why with all Pacquiao's power and stamina won't he agree to Olympic standards testing? It just doesn't make sense.

I've got no use for Haye; he's a blowhard. Well, I have to admit that I do enjoy his accent.
