I thought I recognized the background. http://www.cannillomotorsports.com/pastinventory/qv83/qv83.htm Cropped photos, likely scam.
That guy is right by me - not sure I'd buy a car from him, but he has some neat cars in inventory. He had a 360 not terribly long ago. Sat there for about a year, he was asking WAY too much...definitely a driver, but I thought it was worth about $10K less than he was asking.
I called on that car, as have a few others. Guy was a pushy Dick, car is very rough. I would NOT buy it from him for parts the way he acted on the phone. I bought my 87 328 with my next phone call to Salerno in California. Been very happy with it.
Lets see if i rermember ........... this cars is a friends ..........it was in storage for years.......car runs good.......the car has exhaust leak a muffler will fix it 600 bucks......no service history and it needs nothing............his big line was...........you can tell this car needs nothing it runs good ............but he has never driven the car ?????
It is a scam. This guy pops up every few months. Same car. Same pics. Last time I saw it was on Craig's List.
I told him I had cash, and that I had already owned 6 308s at the time. i wanted a basic PPI done and i would wire cash same day. He told me: " If I say its a good car, nobody needs to look at it". Those were his exact words. Car has rust, no books, tools, no records, and i doubt the "miles" are correct. Not to mention the interior alone is $5000.00+ to redo properly. I know these cars are old, i know dealers need to make money to exist, but guys like this who come across with this "wiseguy" attitude really make me LOL at them. Go sell your **** car to someone else buddy. unless one of you guys can lay hands and eyes on the car in person and buy it cheap, i would NOT do any business with this guy. car is worth saving, but not if you have to deal with idiots. There are other, better euro cars out there.
I am about 10 minutes away, I'll look at it. One thing about his place is he leaves all the cars out, so you can look without being harassed by tools. Just looking at the pics, the car is ROUGH. Having been on his lot before, and seeing the utter junk he was peddling, I can only imagine what this looks like in person.
I agree. However, it would be more of an excellent second project since it's not running; first timers should get one that works.
If you are not going to work on it, don't touch it. Also, the adequate price is about $20K max, assuming it runs and the exhaust is fixed. Engine looks complete and fair. You will need to recolor the interior.
dont really know what to think about this one...............http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=p&car_id=301880745&dealer_id=66383765&car_year=1985&lastBeginningStartYear=1981&end_year=2012&showZipError=y&pager.offset=50&search_lang=en&start_year=1981&dma=DETROIT_SE&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&search_type=both&body_code=0&first_record=51&distance=0&default_sort=priceDESC&min_price=1&address=48127&rdm=1308610464585&marketZipError=false&sort_type=priceDESC&max_price=45000&make=FER&seller_type=b&num_records=25&cardist=1068&standard=false
Anyone see this. Wow. I have no affiliation to it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CONCOURS-QUALITY-1988-1-2-FERRARI-328-GTB-/160606044200?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2564ddc028#ht_84138wt_1167
I wouldn't call that car cheap. Looks great. I'd love to do a burnout on that driveway. Anyway, this thread is for cheap cars, like this one http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/2452292538.html
That is a beauty...worth every penny. I like the loose leather on the hand brake (must be a post 87 thing).
+1 But the faux wood and hurst style shifter have to go... I would buy it at 22K and make sure the service work is done properly myself.
Now that really seems like a good deal! As is, for $22,000.00 which is approx. 16,000.00 Euros....For a Euro QV that would be an excellent price. Shipping to Europe plus the required service could be done for 4,000 Euros easily, if you know your way around. So 20k Euros for a QV GTS in red, unimaginable on the local European market. I hope the walnut finish will peel right off.....and for a moment I thought someone had converted this car to an auto trans, look at the shifter!!. Also hope the side markers are stick-ons.
