Since I had the privilege of turning wrenches for him in 2001, I know that he'd like the record to be correct...

Just racing and nothing more. I personaly do not care who won mainly because I have over the past 25+yr's just tried to just enjoy the racing aspect. As some of us know one turn/corner can change everything, life goe's on.

The latest on all of it: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/92270

The bit I found interesting was:

""I had no plan to pass the Ferrari, I was just looking to pass one car and to me it was a safer solution than to try to squeeze in with Timo [Bernhard]. With the momentum it wasn't a problem."

To Me it sounds like a driver who knows he got it badly wrong and wants to deflect the blame away from himself by saying it was a racing incident with no one to blame (standard operating procedure for drivers these days).

An interesting thing to Me also is that for years people criticised the crash sequences in Steve McQueens LeMans film, saying that they were not very realistic and overblown but the ferocity of this accident shows that they got it pretty much right in the film.

Anyone who saw what actually happened know 110% that the Ferrari had absolute, positively nothing to do with that crash PERIOD. It was ALL ON AUDI!

    Damage Control........nuff said.

I think the "flashing lights" comments are about the other Audi crash involving Rockenfeller and the AF Corse Ferrari. IMHO, that particular incident was without a doubt 100% Robert Kaufmann's fault, the Ferrari driver.

Fox News showed the big crash with the Audi and the Ferrari. The Audi was destroyed.

Martha MacCallum said: Guess this shows what happens when an Audi tangles with a Ferrari.

    LOL :D

Dudes that 2nd Audi crash is just insane. I watched it about a dozen times and its spine chilling how fast he hit the wall.

Paraphrasing Charles Dressing from the RLM broadcast:

"To anyone who says that spec cars with spec engines
and spec tires is the only way to go racing these days,
I would bring them here (Le Mans), press their faces
to the glass and tell them 'Look at this and tell me this
isn't the best, most relevant racing on the planet!'".

Le Mans proves year after year that diverse fields with
all manner of engine power, aerodynamics and tires
may be done at all levels of racing.

In qualifying, the top six on the grid were covered by
half a second over an 8.4 mike track.

After 24 Hours of racing, the difference between first
and second was thirteen seconds with no "phantom
yellows", no "lucky dog" waive arounds, no pit stops
every five minutes to change tires (in fact the winning
Audi five-stinted it's Michelins twice during the race),
just spectacularly fast cars being Deven to their limits
and sound strategy which paid off for Audi once again.

The rest of the racing world should be taking note.

    BHW

Has anyone heard what is going on with Rocky? For someone who was "uninjured", his recovery is taking some time. TK subs for him in DTM and he is sitting out the NBR 24 too. He took a heck of a hit, for sure, but what is he recovering from? Concussion?

Thanks for that! This is all we keep getting....getting better, recovering, etc, but never what he is recovering from. I am sure that he was sore as all get out and he may just need some time for all that soreness to go away. I hope that is all!
