First, my name is Willi and I just got a black 348 ts - happy dude here !!!

I would like to install a digital speedometer. Can anybody tell me what pulse rate the generator outputs to the speedometer?

    Thanks

Just buy a GPS unit. Down in one corner is a digital MPG gauge.

Thanks but I need the pulse rate since I am also planning on installing a Dakota Digital Cruise Control unit. I live like one hour outside Las Vegas and I rather enjoy the drive to town then having constantly my eye on the speedometer ...

Do Dakota Digital not do a speed pulse generator in their range?

here is what they answered (I sent them a link to my348.com, thinking they would find there what I need)

"I haven't been able to locate what pulse rate is produced by the OEM pulse generator or if it's output is strong enough to drive both a cruise control and speedometer. What we have done in many applications, but only if it's needed, is to use our SGI-5 speed generator interface. This versatile device can take any VSS signal, divide it or multiply it, and provide several different types of output signals."
