Does anyone have a picture of there top, from the inside shot.It took 4 years of looking at the horrible condition my top was in.Some one in the past did a S#@%y job,it looked like they used a Syringe full of Contact Cement, globed it in places that must have come loose. If possible can someone have the top off the car,to give me a shot at the placement of the new Headliner I'm Installing. All my Manuals don't show anything.I took a few shots to show how bad it looked, and it took only one week to clean the Glue off,Dam glad its Clean.

If you are looking for the original material, I hate to say it but it's gone. Forever.

I bought probably the last roll in the world back in 02 to redo my 84 (I wanted the look of the 80-82 model)

It sagged too and I ALMOST did the injection cement thing. Glad I didn't.

Good luck with it all and keep us posted on your progress.

Sorry Dr. Tommy but I think I have the last roll, I bought 4sq, yard of this from Veloce in San Jose two years ago for one of my 84 QVs targa top and for my rear deck set but haven't use it yet. I better have this done soon before something happen to the material.

    Different stuff.

I am talking about that cream/white colored burlap looking material that was only used 80-82.

That's what I very clearly remember as a kid so mine had to have it. I couldn't believe when Re-Originals found some. Almost too good to be true.

I am happy you found what you wanted when you did. Another 5 years... forget it.

It never hurts to call Re-Originals and double check. Who knows.

I would do that first. If no luck there, I would go a cream colored leather. Just something close to the original color.

Found some fabric in Chicago that is a close weave but the white stripe is brown. I don't think I would use it on a red car but it looks tits with the nero paint! I didn't like the flag mirrors either so concours isn't my bag. Lost

i went a different route. the top was stripped and the fiberglass polished to semigloss black (no paint). then wool weave (off white) panels were made for the recesses only. the rest of the panel is bare fiberglass. it looks great; another option. jon s

I took the recease and glued 1/8 neopreme foam to it and then another sheet (one piece) over the whole targa and it looks smooth. The material should be in my hands on the morrow . I hope it sticks to the closed cell neo. Lost
