For anyone who wants to Caravan up we will make a stop at 800 AM at the Delaware Rest stop in the boulevard of I-95 south of the Rt 273 exit. PM me if you want my cell phone number to rendevous. We will make the toll booth of the NorthEast Extension at 9:00AM for those that want to wait along side the road and meet there for the rest of the trip. We should arrive a little after 10AM. I know thats late for the concourse serious entrants but a few of us are only parking our cars in the grass without the intent on having them judged. For those wanting to be judged I would recommend a much earlier arrival. See you Soon. We intend to go for a drive mid afternoon for those wanting to join us. Jon in Delaware
I sent them an email regarding that, but they said that you need to have a registered car to go to the track event. The only day then is Saturday, which is the Concours. Hope that helped. Thanks, Jared
Are you saying you have to have a registered car to walk in and watch, even if you aren't participating in the track event?
I was there last year and they allowed paid spectators in. Hopefully it hasn't changed because there will be a lot of friends and family that will get turned away if this is a new change.
You can try if you want, but I don't want risk anything because I live about 2.5 hours away. Here is the email that I received back from them: "The track is not open to the public, you must be registered." That is what they said, but you can try since you're friends are going to the track event. Best of luck. -Jared
The Concours was very well put together and had some great cars. I had a great time with my dad and looking forward for next year's event. Pictures: https://picasaweb.google.com/103299510635054684777/LeBelleMacchineDItaliaConcours -Jared
What a spectacular weekend. Not because of the show...even though that was great but I hung out with four other great guys and had a terrific "guys weekend". Bob,Josh,Steven and George it was simply epic. We went to the show on Saturday. Nice show. We then went for a two hour back road drive back to my Pocono home. Busting each others balls all the way. then a fabulous albeit simple Italian meal ( appropriate). Then this Morning after Breakfast Bob has a brilliant idea. Instead of going to the track lets send the day working our way from the Poconos to home via small small roads. No highways allowed. well we all agreed and Josh The new King of the road fired up the Iphone. Using his extraordinary skill he navigated us 150 miles of backroads. Absolutely EPIC. Ended at the Whip for a fabulous late lunch. Unreal roads...One for the record books my friends. Bob Craig step aside...Josh the New Road King!! Jon in Delaware
I was thinking of going to Pocono for the final track day tomorrow strictly as a spectator, but I was away this weekend and didn't get to attend any of the events so far. If I showed up at the track event tomorrow (Monday), ready to pay of course, do you think they would let me in? If so, how much do you guys think the entry fee would be? Its not that far from where I live here in Allentown, but I still didn't want to drive up there and be denied entry. I was hoping some of you guys may have an answer for me. This is the first time I've missed the "concours" part of the event in 3 or 4 years, though I've NEVER been to the "track days" portion. Thanks eveyone for your time! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Ciao. Mark
Jon,George, Steven and navigator extraordinair JOSH. Thanks for the fabulous weekend. After not having my car for so long, we really pounded the miles to make up for it. A little less than 400 in 2 days. Jon, you are on the money. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Josh and my lives have been a bit stressful lately with family health problems and getting away hit the spot. The concours was OK. Very nice location, great weather and some very nice cars, although not many of them. Saw some old friends and just had a casual event. The drive yesterday afternoon and then coming all the way back with a great lunch at the Whip made for a lifetime memory. Enzo would be proud. Make sure no one tells Zaff how much fun he missed. He'll cry for a week. I'll have some pix up in the next couple days.
Great photos. Thanks for sharing. Does anyone know anything about the purple Diablo 6.0? That is a car on my bucket list.
Sounds like a great time had by all and sorry I missed it Although I didn't get to have a weekend filled with Ferraris, I managed to take a detour from my family obligations for a few hours and grab a great lunch with some good friends. Other than that, I was just staying above water with one sick little girl and another teething baby. At least Meg was able to get some well deserved rest and the inlaws were able to enjoy their anniversary. Being there for them was very important to me. Sorry again for canceling last minute. Sometimes I try to bite off more than I can chew. Next year, Meg and I decided we are going to bring the whole family down and rent a room for a few days--we'll make a little vacation of it. Hopefully, you guys will let me back in the club by then
I talked to owner shortly and he is about 40 miles out from Boston. He brought it down from Massachusetts, but I'm not positive if he trailered it, but I am pretty sure he did. That 6.0 is my favorite Diablo design and it's a fantastic car up close. Hope that helped. -Jared
Thank you very much, I just got my first dSLR the night before the event and it was just such a difference between my old camera and now my current one. Thanks again, Jared
For those who were not able to go to this event, Motorweek will have some video from the show and track the first week in September. The show was nice and we had luck with the weather as well. Thank you to all who came and a big Thank You to Dave North for heading up the Ferrari concourse. Shawn
Does anyone think it will be worth going to see today's track day up at Pocono? I've never been to the track event. How much to get in? Anyone know? Mark
Mark, I too had never been to a track event. My wife and I and the kids drove up for the afternoon and I'm so glad we did. Check out the Cars and Coffee Camp Hill PA thread. I just posted a bunch of pics from yesterday, and while my ears are still ringing, all I can say is "Wow!"
