will Ferrari win one race this year?

  1. Yes, they are working hard

  2. No, RB is just too good and the season is done

  3. I lost interest 3 races ago to care

  4. Who's Ferrari? Are they racing?

I asked this question after the 2nd race this year and got blasted for suggesting Ferrari will not win a race this year unless something "bizarre" happens (like accidents or someone blows up or is penalized).

So, I ask again. Will Ferrari win a straight out victory this year?

After watching Alonso today I have no doubt that Ferrari will at least win one race this year.

Last time Ferrari won one race all season was the only season in recent history that didn't allow tyre changes. One thing in common with that season this year is, anyone? anyone? no refueling.

I'm not saying that makes the difference, but it sure takes much of the drama out of the pit stops.

    IMHO

Let's just cut to the chase. Will (ANY TEAM) but Redbull win a race for the rest of the season?

I have to apologize about something.

Technically this thread could have been a spoiler. I didn't think of it that way when posting.

If I ruined anyone's race, I sincerely apologize.

A straight out victory ? Do some victory's not count ? Anyway, you already asked once, you'll likely get a similar response especially after today's race.

Instead of being a smart azz, maybe you should just answer the question. You know what I mean. You don't need to talk down to the rest of us.

I want Ferrari to win at least one race. But I don't think they can do it. Think about it: Alonso said that RB is already 2 months ahead of Ferrari. For every bit of new development, Newey and co. are already on top.

Unless the FIA bans RB technology overnight, this is a lost cause.

I want to see what happens at Silverstone.

Personally, I think the RB are too strong, but nobody's perfect.

Those who watched the 21 years of drought know exactly how a season like this feels ... sort of close but not really there.

Since MS, Brawn and Bryne left Ferrari we have been struggling. Kimi's win was a fluke caused more by Ferrari helping McLaren get in the **** with the FIA, and the current car is a piece of ****.

Almost being quick enough means you might as well go home, but thankfully Ferrari have more backbone than that and will keep at it.

Article 15.3, paragraph 3 of FIA's rulebook states that there can not be a season without a Ferrari victory.

    So fear not.

    That's a pretty good rule!

They should do that for all the teams.

Yea. Remember Kimi at spa 2009? Compared to that Ferrari this year's Ferrari is so much better.

    Exactly.

At some point something freakish will happen and Vettel will have a DNF and if Alonso is within a few seconds, he'll have the win.

Come to think of it: If Button hadn't torpedoed Alonso out of the sea battle in Canada, chances are, Alonso would have been the one pressuring Vettel. It could have happened and it could happen again. We'll see.

*IF* the report of Seb being 2.5 seconds behind Mark in P1 due to not running the EBD is true, the playing field just got leveled..... Ferrari (*both* drivers!) and Mclaren are already close, trimming the Cans by a second or so changes everything.

We'll see soon enough I guess.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Ferrari 1 - 2 while Massa is at Ferrari.... no chance!

I am personally thinking that Hungary is the best track for Ferrari to win. It is a highly technical track like Monaco and driver talent comes to the fore and its nature of being short straights and very twisty make overtaking extremely difficult... If Alonso can plant the car on pole he has an excellent chance of victory there...

I think Fernando's got that race circled on his calendar as his best shot of a victory barring bizarre race circumstances...
