I can't get fuel injectors in the manifold;

    Finally got the injectors, seals and injector carriers to my door.

    I put some anti seize around the ring of the carrier and began to hand turn the carrier into the manifold and when that stopped working i used a 12 mm on the injector itself and it just spins in the carrier. Next i took vice grips to the top of the carrier and it turned for a thread or two but then it to began to slip.

    How do you get the injector/carrier assembly into the manifold threads??

    Something is wrong.

    You should slip the new injector into the seal first, a little lube may be needed. Then insert the injector/seal unit into the carrier. At this point the male hex of the injector should engage with the female hex of the carrier. Now never seize carrier threads and screw the assembly into the manifold. Snug up with a wrench on the injector hex (not too tight), and that's it.

    I assume you have the type of carrier in the picture.

    I have that type but bought the other plastic brown type. What i don't understand is how you screw it into the manifold with the injector in the carrier. You can't use the 12mm hex to screw it in since the injector is in the carrier. The o-ring or the black seal don't provide enough grip to stop the injector from spinning in the carrier once you put a wrench or socket to it and you can't do it with your fingers either.

    Stuart, put the brown plastic in first with a little Teflon putty on the threads. Use the 12mm Allen wrench to seat them in the intake manifold. Hand tight is fine. These will go in with the larger opening facing up. Once seated take the injector with the green o-ring already mounted on, and push in the the injector holder. The o-ring should just pop in to place.

    If you bought the other kind.... you screw the carrier into the manifold with the appropriate allen wrench then lube the injector and o-ring. Slide the o-ring onto the injector then push the assembly into the carrier.

    Oh..yes i see that now. That should work great. It does just snap in and it's tight.
