Some Ferrari dealers don't like FerrariChat and this I know from first hand experience. To make this short I was called by a dealer and was told to avoid this forum. I will keep the story to myself, but to those that send the letter about me to the dealer, if you read this then go and f... yourself.

I'd be interested in learning more about this story, if you'd be willing to expound, or send me a PM.

Dealers don't have a reason to dislike FerrariChat unless they're trying to screw people. If there's a different perspective to this that I'm just not seeing, I'm open to enlightenment.

Mr Sheehan didn't consider the positive side of F-Chat. Some of the cars on here have superb repairs / restoration work done. I know owners normally keep piles of receipts but the workmanship that some enthusiasts do cannot be appreciated via a receipt.

I've seen a lot of conclusions jumped to here. I've seen a lot of false statements made, not out of malice but out of ignorance. However if someone reads thoes false statements it can hurt a business' reputation. I can see instances where shops or dealers would be very unhappy with specific comments that have been made here. The smart individual however will not read one comment and take it to heart, they will do much research and try to develop a whole picture before deciding a shop is not trustworthy.

I've seen threads where owners told partial truths and someone had to come in and set the record straight. Many people don't know auto repair and think they are being taken advantage of by an honest shop and come here to vent. That is what I have seen in my two years here. Not often, but it happens.

I don't see that as anything wrong with Ferrarichat, that can happen anywhere on the internet and probably happens in other places more often than here. This is a chat forum where opinions are not sensored.

I surely would not have my particular Dino if not for the information presented on FChat.

I only see two types avoiding FerrariChat.com. The shady ones that made their money through the inefficient lack of information world before FerrariChat.com, their world got rocked. However, there are some old school shops that were good, they just didn't get the internet and how to best use it. The early days of FerrariChat the Ferrari of Houston manager would get on here and rant every time they were mentioned. They are a good place, but that made them look bad and it was their own fault for not understanding and embracing the community.

We have 9 authorized dealers that are sponsors and they are getting huge benefits against those that are trying to avoid us. You can close your eyes and try to get customers not to visit, but the facts are we efficiently exchange information and if its anything Ferrari it will be discussed here. Putting your head in the sand will just get your butt bit.

    Ditto.

Ferrari Chat Stands Alone. Mike as an aside has stated many thing that simply are not true and when pointed out to him never retracted or responded. (The Price I payed for 0854).

Ferrari Chat is a place where the truth comes out and people are allowed to judge for themselves.

There are a LOT of the "Old School" who have been shown not to know as much as they thought they did on Ferrari Chat and many, many dealers and The Factory itself has been held up to the bright light.

    Forza Ferrari Chat.

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus was proud to carry Ferrari Chat's Logo for 24 Hours to 2 in Class at The 24 Hours of Nurburgring.

Just think what we could do if we had a Search Function that actually worked like Google! :)

I was just trying to think of countries that block or at least filter what their residents view on the internet... China, North Korea, Iran...

    Okay. :)

Searching through text fields in a database will always be much harder to do than searching through indexed documents or web pages.

We have all become spoiled by the web search engines like Google.

Solr is an open source indexing and search technology that is making this easier. But I haven't seen it incorporated into forum software yet.

I have talked to several of these " High Profile Dealers".. Funny thing is they all know each other and they all call each other crooks... Ever wonder if these guys even have any Dealer licensing? I can never find any proof of this....

BUt if we bash the high-end dealers in general - and believe me in the end every car, even if it roles out of the factory can get its "story" - the "Trust" issue is not really advancing. It is fine to check on fchat and other forums on specific questions - and of course on individual cars. But be aware: it quickly tunrs you into an "virtual expert" with a 100% understanding of the market. Except you are not; because even we see thrugh the net a lot of things - you never know who posted it for what reason. So we are back at the starting point: Believe it or not.
Just a quick view on the subject - and as we live in times not to trust anybody, how will we ever get our next "real" F or other collector car?

They are losing ground in the real world, and quickly.

My Amanda was test driving a Saturn Sky around and around last night at a local lot.

I told her to avoid hitting the black Twin Turbo V12 AMG Mercedes Coupe they were delivering to it's proud new owner!

They are all just "units" now, at retail....unless it's a VERY SPECIAL car....

Interestingly, that Mercedes was only 2x the Saturn, all in.
THAT part was interesting to me....

Makes it tough on the scammers and the ones trying to hide storied models, doesn't it?
