As long as it doesn't turn the races into economy drives!

    Cheers,

Which is pretty much what happened towards the last time F1 used turbos. :(

I remember cars crawling around Imola, zigzagging on the last couple of laps trying to shake the last drop of fuel into the engine, then eventually rolling to a stop with half a lap to go.

yet for some reason drivers *love* the 80s over other eras. probably for different reasons though

John, thanks for all the information you posted earlier. I remember the 80's as my favorite era even when they had the economy runs, just to watch the qualifying and different engine paths the Manufacturers took at the time. Hope this will be as exciting as it was at that time.

    from Brawn today:

"Cars will use about 35% less fuel in 2014 than they currently do, with plans to introduce further efficiencies in the future".

Don't everyone panic just yet. The new motors will most likely have direct injection which will make up for quite a bit of efficiency they are searching for, also the KERS units will be more powerful in coming years. Really looking forward to some dyno numbers on this ! Good times!

The horror scenario I described was only the last couple of years of turbos. Before that there were many years of uncompromised turbo power with the pencil rocket cars. And before that was the era of the skirts and ground effect cars.

All in all about 8 fantastic years in that decade. Except for the losses of drivers :(
