hi all, I am currently working on my exhaust system on my 355 spider (2.7) and have come accross a rusty and split vacuum tank around the edge and bottom,i guess it wasnt air tight after all and loosing power... maybe?? and was wondering is there an alternative or a better replacement apart from the OEM part. or some guidance on repairing it. all it is just an empty tin can, well thats what it looks and feels like.it cost £275+ for an over size can of emty tin. I already have bought high temperture spray and rust remover, but didnt expect the damage.has any one else came across this matter. any help and sugestion would be much appriciated. thanks in advance

Looks very similar to an early Ford Mustang (67-68) vacuum tank

Using an old moon tank may be a cool idea if you like modding :)

I recommend recycling a can of Campbell's Pork & Beans. Then take it to the concours. If anybody asks, just tell them it's OEM. :D

Lol, it's crazy money for a empty tin can that doesn't do much, I will try to repair it or search on eBay to a similar part.

This is the best option. Fords have used this can forever. I have one on my 95 f-150. Check any performance parts catalog or Summit. I'm sure there is a slick aftermarket part.
