I have read all the posts on spider top issues, but have not found my problem. I have filled and bleed the system, and repaired the microswitch on the frame.
When I release the top the windows drop, when I push the header back the system beeps, but when I push the switch nothing happens. I have read lots of post about the beeper just beeping, but mine does nothing. I have tried moving the seats forward, but again I would think it would beep if that was the problem.
    Thanks,
    Eric

Will the roof work if you use the "overide" switch ?

As you stated you should get a beeping sound if it was not receiving a signal from any of the micro-switches... PM your email if you would like me to send you section on the spider roof from the WSM.

Overide switch will bypass micro-switches (apart from parking brake) and enable you to put the roof up or down. Make sure your seats are moved forward and windows down!! It is located between the seats on driver side of the hydraulic pump cover. Small circular piece pops out to reveal the overide switch.

Another issue that many of us do not now on the 355 tops has to do with one of the ribs on the top frame. The cross brace right above the drivers head has a lot to do with the roof being stuck in the push back mode and wont go any further.
Once you push the top back until it hits the microswitch, try gently pushing back the cross bar on the top fram back a little. If the cross bar is not fully back, the frame becomes paralized and wont move even a mm. All you need to do is gently pull back the one crossbar over your head to release tension from the whole frame.

LEt us know if it works

If the over-ride switch is working, then I'd guess that the top isn't bent. Sounds like something is telling the car it's not ready yet for the top to move.

You might check this thread to see if a seat potentiometer has failed: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=288373

I am in the process of checking the seat pots, but shouldn't be beeping at me if the seats are the problem?
The motor does not run so it is not the crossbar.

You know, I can't remember. I think the seat pot failure may not cause it to beep when you hit the top down button.

So many different variables with those tops. I may convert mine to manual. It seems to work only when I dont need it to.

I would check the seat potentiometers - those are likely to blame if you are getting movement when you use the override.

Spent the weekend going over the top operation. Pulled both seats and checked the seat pots, they both work. Checked the seat pot operation at the ecu, still good. Checked each switch for the system, all work except for right door switch. Disconnected switch and still get the same result. Checked all power and grounds to the ecu, all are good. I suspect the ecu is bad. Does anyone have a used one I could borrow or buy to test my system.
    Thanks,
    Eric

With the seat out I checked the resistance between yellow and black. I think that was the colors. The resistance change as I ran the seats back and forth. With the seats in the car I checked voltage at the ecu, and the voltage when up and down as I moved the seats.

Yes I have it sends power where it is suposed to send it. I also switched it with a seat switch.
