I always thought that the only time TM drove the 308 with the top on was in the first episode...he "borrowed" the 308 and then pulled to the side of the road and unlatched the top and "slid" it back. I assume the top is still on the side of the road :)

I was watching an episode from season 5 today called Fragments and he drove it with the top on (albeit it was at night).

    Just wanted to share...

I love the video, never noticed the "slide back" on the top, but I would have loved to hear the directors conversation as to why the scene needed to be filmed that way. Had to be awkward having a couple of guys standing there (just out of view of the camera) to hold the top as the car drives away???

Also made me think, anyone know of someone with the 'ROBIN 1' vanity plates on their car??

He had the top on once in the rain at night before the big explosion where his Navy friend gets killed.

Yes Lonnie that is correct about the 928. Gosh I loved that show SO much. Obviously one of the main reasons why I have a 308. :)

I heard that too but I was under the impression it was because Porsche was being difficult about their cars.

Also Selleck LOVED 928's. Enough so that not only did he buy one for himself but for Larry and Roger too ( I read all this in Manetti's book)

If you're on a set of rock-hard TRXs, I think it only takes about 50 horsepower to break them loose... :)

Ah, the magic of Hollywood. Of course in Hollywood there is always a unlimited number of Grips just off camera to help with the magic.

Can only imagine the kind of damage the top would do to the cross over support and deck lid as it goes cascading down the back.

LMAO, did that by accident once on 14 year old tires. new tires made the car as slow as they always are!

    love 'em anyway! :)

i cant tell you how many times ive pitched my 328 sideways on the power as well as doing 760 degree sick 1st to 2nd gear donuts and burnouts..once these cars get spooled up,,,its no problem getting the ass end to break loose...especially if you have a kevlar clutch,,,100 % of the power right to the road without slipping or hesitation....you should try it sometime,,you might suprise yourself....lol

I have spun mine once - 2 1/2 times around. Felt like about 20.

I was on the track (for the first time around), not the street.

I remember back in high school a friend had a FIAT X-19 and we tried duplicating that scene many times (abused the clutch a bit) :)

Wow, I'm impressed. I mean, to put a chevy motor in your car once....and then to do it again? Wow, that's something.

I clicked on that video last night and my wife walked into the office at the same time. As soon as the music started, I grinned, she rolled her eyes and said "Oh God" and walked away. I love that show. :D

Some people don't get it LOL! I get the same reaction from my gf but she got used to it. When I went to Oahu on vacation of course I HAD to find Robin's nest which I finally did and I spent the entire afternoon in the tidal pool and loved it my friends I went with just didn't understand.
