Yeah I can see where you are coming from but Prost beat Senna fair and square in the same car at the same time. That is enough for me. I shouldn't have quoted statistics, mistake by me.

I have huge respect for both drivers, but IMO Prost is the better driver.

Well... according to Lew Ham when Senna died, Senna's racing spirit came into his body. That is why he wears a yellow helmet. .... BS... another attempt by the Lew Ham team to sell more t-shirts.

And according to Lew Ham, all he ever wanted to do was drive the silver Mclaren cars... ever since he was a kid.... more BS... when he LEW HAM a kid, Mclaren's colors were not silver.

Hopefully this will be one of his last years in F1. Ron Dennis and Mclaren will be the first to throw Lew Ham under a bus when the marketing spin ends and he is not winning / selling t-shirts.

When LH was 11-12 this was the Mclaren Mercedes MP4/12 in 1997. In my calculations that makes him a kid and the car silver. It was painted silver to celebrate Mclarens sponsorship deal with "West".
That same kid by the way approached David Culthard who was driving this pictured car and said, "i want to drive your car one day". And that story has been recited by Culthard on countless occasions.

Lewis Hamilton has an F1 career, millions of dollars, a girlfriend who most would say is talented and hot and more driving skill than 100% of the members of this wonderful Fchat board.

Instead of getting upset with the haters on this thread, imagine the mental gymnastics (psychosis) the haters must go through to sustain themselves. I feel as sorry for them as I do any other self loathing loser on the planet.

 

I'm pretty sure LH will lap most of the aficionados here , but what is that gonna prove he is competing against other professional drivers and that is what it counts , beating a bunch of guys from a chat room would prove nothing

 

In case you hadn't realised- he is a Formula 1 world champion. That means, in simple to understand terms, that he was the best overall driver in Formula 1 for that year. He beat all the other professional drivers. His ability behind the wheel is not in doubt to anyone other than the haters or fanatical tribalists.

 

I dont doubt his talent at all. I doubt his common sense, manners and patience. He is well behind others in some categories. No one is perfect. Even LH.

I could care less how "gangster" his babe is, his friends etc. Means nothing. After 4 yrs in the sport his style is still that of a rookie. His mouth is full of contradictions. Some blatant.

He doesnt listen well and has to constantly apologise for things he says, then in the same breath says others should not render an opinion about him and he shall just ignore them. Yet LH is more than happy to do the same and openly render an opinion. Sorry child but you cannot have it both ways. He is a very incomplete adult. Adult he barely is to begin with.

 

I agree. I think he is a great all out 100% foot to the floor 'racer' but needs to work on his strategy and race craft to maximize points over the length of a season. In this regard, he has a lot to learn. His off track commentary is poor - but frankly, that's not why I watch him. I don't give too hoots about what he says - I just want to see good racing! Perhaps he needs to stop talking to the press full stop... Why aren't his management team helping him more effectively???

 

My question exactly. He lacks nothing but tact and good management. He should just let his driving do the talking. That is not in dispute.

 

He has clearly stated on several occasions that it is the silver car of Senna that he now drives. Pray tell me what silver Mclaren did Senna drive!?

I feel worse for the fan boys who blindly admire the marketing and believe that he is Senna himself!

 

My current problem with Lewis Hamilton is that he thinks the likes of Mansell and Villeneuve should keep their opinions to themselves but then he openly gives his opinion on how the race stewards deal with him, on how every other driver on the track cuts him up when he's trying to overtake them, how the Red Bull team is "Just a drinks company", (and then starts sniffing around them in case there may be a seat available), and on many more things.

It's a bit like some of the posters on this site, just because they don't like the opinions made by other people they think they have a right to tell them to shut up! (as I'm sure this thread has highlighted many a time!).

 

What about the former Shadow team principals that left and formed Arrows in late 1977? When the 1978 Arrows FA1 showed up for the first race it was extremely similar to the Shadow DN9. The governing body determined that the Arrows team principals had stolen the entire design of the car and Arrows was required to build their own car in mid 1978 instead racing the stolen design.

 

I must be missing out on some F1 news somewhere!.
