Does anyone know which wires in the TGK valve go to the motor vs. any potentiometer in the motor? Anyone have a wiring diagram for the valve?

    Many thanks! Curt

OK. What I've found out so far.. with a volt meter and a 9v battery..

    five leads into the valve.
black, red, white, green and blue.
black and red are continuous with one another and will power the motor in the valve when connected to a 9V battery. Motor will run to end of travel with one polarity, then reverse polarity and valve moves opposite.

other wires presumably connect to the potentiometer in the valve for signalling valve position.

How Climate control ECU modulates the valve is anyones guess...

JUst trying to understand things better (need to know everything about it) :)
For that matter.. what is the purpose of the minimum pump in the AC system, given the system shoudl run heat provided the water pump is working.. A mystery to me..

Maybe get ahold of the WSM for your car and read the section on Air Conditioning?

I'd suggest not "playing" with the A/C system because if you kill the A/C ecu it is QUITE expensive to replace.

Curt, on vehicles where the cooling system volume is fairly large due to increased volume and distances, manufacturers decided to use a supplemental electric waterpump to take up the slack. It is mainly to pump the coolant through the heating system, not to cool the engine.
