No worries and it's all good. Hopefully one day you really task your car at the track as it is A LOT of fun! Check around you local road course tracks for HPDE groups and get there :)

My chops need busting from time to time, just like Schumacher 'needed' Mika or Bernanke needs Ron Paul... it keeps everyone 'honest'.

I've been on the forum a long time and have learned a lot and have helped others. Allow me to rephrase my post because in re-reading it I see how harsh and dismissive it came across and I don't want you or anyone else to not contribute here because of something I said/wrote. It's a public forum, and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

While I realize you said you don't own/have a Miata, I think we all realize here that it and many other cars are very capable sport coupes. But this is a 308 board in a Ferrari forum and the love of our brand and particular model is usually the primary focus. Most don't care what cars can under or out perform our models, so trying to bestow the virtues of anything other than a 308 here, or a 355 in that section, etc, typically would be considered a side-bar, non relevant conversation. On a Miata board, I suspect posting about how great a Toyota MR2 or Nissan Sentra is, would be met with similar resistance or passive aggressiveness.

In my experience, most Ferrari's are acquired for the love of the brand, the look of the artistic expression within the design, and the exclusivity of the model. Except for those that buy the purpose built sub models, I suspect most don't race or track their cars, it's not the primary factor in the acquisition. If I wanted a car to track, I'd probably acquire a Cayman S, but my 308 would always be my special car. I've owned better performing cars while I've owned my 308, but I appreciate the 308 for what it is and don't really care what its 0-60 time is or what any other metric might say about it, it's still my favorite car, and the one I've owned the longest. To me, everything else seems to be an "appliance".

Again my apologies for coming across harsh and upsetting you.
