I know it's been asked a million times but trading in my 06 911S for a 98 355 spider manual. Where is the best place to go to get interior parts to bring this thing back to tip top condition? Common sticky center counsole, etc.. I can't get past the 355 sound. I'm sold.....
I made almost the same trade - 05 911/997 C2 for 1995 355 GTS - Loved the Porsche but nothing compared to the ownership experience of owning a Ferrari - especially a 355. Robbie and the gang at StickyNoMore as previously mentioned will take care of an sticky interior issues. Cheers!

I tell you guys. I have to love the support for a rather daunting trade. I have had several Porsche's over the last 10 years but I always seem to get tired and want a change. I am hoping Ferrari will hold my interest for longer periods of time. Thanks everyone....

No worries - Like I said - the Ferrari is a completely different ownership experience. Some people like it - some people don't. Personally, I love it and have never looked back. Besides, it is a fairly risk-free move. If you buy a nice 355 you will not lose much money on it from a depreciation standpoint. You will spend more on it in maintenance and repairs - that is the offset and from my calculations pretty much 1:1. I lost approximately $25K over 4 years in depreciation on the Porsche and figure I will spend about $20K on the Ferrari over the same period of time in service and unexpected repairs barring anything hyper-catastrophic. If for some reason you don't like the Ferrari you can always sell it and go back to a Porsche - there are plenty around. Go for it - I sincerely doubt you will regret it. Cheers
Besides...Porsches are a dime a dozen honestly. Don't get me wrong, they're amazing...I've been looking for a good 964 Turbo as I love that car but its no 355 and I would not have gotten it over a 355. Hope you find yourself a well sorted out 355, trust you will not be disappointed. Invest in a good ppi with full leakdown and compression tests from a reputable Ferrari mechanic. Money very well spent in my opinion. And if you like the 355 stock exhaust sound...wait till you hear it with a Capristo I'm sure you've seen this but I had to post it. Except the OP has already taken the depreciation on his 911.... and the joys of 355 servicing/parts lie ahead. I think he should have a look at the repair issues and costs for the convertible top on the 355 before deciding. I know the original question was about sticky plastic, but the el cheap interior isn't all that big a deal compared to the other potential expense. Personally, I wouldn't make the trade. For similar money, the 328 and 360 Modena with manual gearbox would be higher on my list. YMMV, etc...

I thank you for your honesty. I already know it will need the engine out service as this has been negotiated already. Aside from any other found issues. Who knows. Car is in possession of a reputable mechanic in my area. I will be involved in everything. It's already difficult to go from an 06 to a 98 so this is more information to digest. It's just that I always get bored after a few years so I figure what can I lose?
That thing just sings.... love it! I've never driven a 911 C2S, but have driven a 355 and it's a fabulous car. Unless it's your daily driver, I say go for the Ferrari!
Good points but the Porsche is still depreciating as is the 360. Totally agree on the top - that can be expensive and annoying - mine is a panel so no worries! Ha Also agree on the 328 however good 328s are starting to nick into decent 355 prices with quite a bit less performance.... but also quite a bit less maintenance costs. All good advice from the usual consortium of varied opinions. Cheers
