Any ideas? My 348 recently started falling out of 5th gear. It doesn't happen during any particular time, it just seems to happen while driving along at normal highway speed, and suddenly it's out of gear. There's no jarring, no crunching, it just falls out. I pop it back in and I'm OK for another few minutes. Oddly, if I try to push it out of gear myself while driving (clutch up), it resists just like it should.

Probably unrelated...... the car no longer fights me so hard to get into 2nd gear while cold. But that could just have to do with the 95 degree weather we've been having lately; it's never really cold.

    Thanks!

I'm not sure what's causing it, but if it were me I'd stop driving the car until it was sorted out. Something is out of alignment or a shaft is getting loose - either way, it can start damaging a lot of parts quickly. Maybe PM Plugzit, Fatbillybob or Ernie (if he still checks the site?) - those guys know 348 boxes inside out.

Thanks. I think I figured it out. Could have been my son.

Did he want the car in neutral instead of 5th? ;)
