This does backfire. ExGF saw my hot new (to me) 348 Spider and commented how impressed she was and happy for me. Right up until she showed me her new husband's Lamborghini. Crap!

Good stuff! The cyclone when it hit earlier in the year didn't affect Mt Isa too much?
By the time i'm able to afford a decent one, prices will be even cheaper! Hahaha :)

Actually, the common thread running throughout these stories isn't seeking revenge, rather, chance encounters with their impatient Exes, who themselves suddenly realized the full impact of the error of their ways, like a shot to the solar plexus. The beauty of the moment is seeing the permanent flashing neon light flashing through skin, emanating from their albeit, tiny frontal lobes that reads: *Everything You Know Is Wrong*

Don't worry about them. Someday, they too might have the good fortune to have as fine a taste in automobiles as you.

When I was a senior in highschool I was engaged to a girl that I loved with all my heart. We had the kind of love you see in movies, where two people see each other and run to one another. Her parents were on their last legs and got a divorce a year or two later. They did everything possible to tear us apart, including telling her I would never amount to anything and I was not good enough for her. Eventually they won.

20 years later I wrote a letter to her father to thank him for the good things that they had done, and asked him how she was. I never heard anything in response. A month or two later I was outside washing the Ferrari and the corvette in front of my house as he drove by. Life changes sometimes........ Scott

Oh yes, he saw. I live on the first house of a cul-de-sac. I saw him drive by slowly, go all the way down turn around and drive by again. He didn't stop, but he was there for a reason. Some people have a hard time owning up to what they have done in life. Obviously he hasn't changed much. Unfortunately, the girl didn't mature too much more either. I found out about her later when I talked with her grandmother. Life is like a box of chocolates............Scott

    LMAO!

I don't have a Ferrari story since I don't have one, but I did see a guy I had a huge crush on in high school when I was at a casino. He was the valet guy who parked my car.

And I saw one of the girls who used to be uber mean to me in elementary school when I was at Walgreen's. She looked sort of like a man, nothing like the little preppy popular girl she used to be.

nope. it was a while before I discovered fchat. And I was actually buying some Beano as a joke for someone so I didn't want her to see me. Maybe she did see me and tell everyone, "Hey, I saw that girl I used to be mean to in Walgreen's and she was buying Beano." :p

Awesome! I have a similar story. When I was in college I dated a girl that was an absolute stunner. I mean, no matter where we went, people would openly stare at her because she was beautiful. Well, as is often the case, with that beauty came an aloofness where she thought she deserved to have expensive toys simply because of her looks. She drove a Grand Am, and I had an Acura.

Well, we broke up because she ended up being more trouble than she was worth, and thought she could get a guy that would buy her a BMW, and that guy was not me. 6 months later I graduated from college, got a great job, and within months bought one of my dream cars, a BMW M3. I flew to Texas, drove it home to Indiana, and went to show a friend of mine (Julie) who worked at a tanning salon. I parked right in front of the salon, in plain sight of the entire lobby. The conversation went like this:

    Me: 'Hey Jules! What's up?'
Julie (seeing the M3): 'Shut up! Tell me that is not your car.'
Me (smiling): 'Yep. That is mine. Just bought it yesterday.'
Julie: 'That is awesome! Oh my! You are not going to believe who is here.'
    Me: 'Who?'
Julie: 'Stephanie!' (That was my ex)
    Me: 'Awesome.'
Julie: 'You have to stay here. She will be out any minute.'

(I take a seat, and 5 minutes later she comes out, with her new boyfriend walking out at about the same time.)

    Me: 'Hey, Steph. What's up?'
Ex: 'Mitch? What are you doing here?'
Me: 'Just stopped to show Julie my new car.' (Pointing out the window)
    Ex (stunned): 'That's your car?'
Me: 'Yep! Just drove it home from Texas. I love it!'
    Ex: (Speechless)
Me: 'So are you still driving the Grand Am?'
    Ex: 'Yeah.'
Me: 'Wow. Well, I'm sure you'll get something new eventually.'
    Ex: (Still speechless)
Me: 'Well, I better get going. Great to see you though.'
    Ex: 'Ummm....yeah..you too.'

Then I said goodbye to my friend and left. The best part was that I found out later her new boyfriend is a broke ass, and does not even own a car. Evidently the next time she came in to the salon she asked Julie if the car was really mine, and when Julie confirmed that it was, she then asked if I was seeing anyone. Freaking awesome. :D

They say that living well is the best revenge. You have nothing to apologize for.

I was really a dork when I was a kid and have found that time is a big equalizer. My 40th high school reunion is coming up soon. I can't wait!

I have my 50th high school reunion coming up, but that last thing I am going to fess up to is owning an exotic car. On your 5th and 10th go ahead and brag. On your later ones, deny everything - stealth wealth. Do you really want some middle aged deadbeat former classmate hitting you up for cash to invest in his next greatest scheme?

But then, I'm kind of cynical. :)

:D That is very good to hear! It had the potential to be a whole heap worse!

That day will come for me eventually! Just gotta keep plugging away at it. Though a 348 at 24 wouldn't be so bad. Why do cars have to be so overpriced in Australia? :(

    Well said vvassallo.

There are only a handfull of people who know about my 355 outside of my family and close friends. Exactly for the reasons you spoke of. I'm in my 30s, and I really just don't want certain people to know that I have a Ferrari as they are on a need to know basis.

Despite some of these stories being entertaining, I could care less if one of my ex's saw me in my 355; there's a reason I married my wife and they are my ex. I pretty much only drive my car early in the morning anyway and typically on back roads where I don't see cop cars, let alone an ex girlfriend . . .
