    Howdy folks

Looking for some seat material besides leather that breathes and is durable. Must be cool also.
For a 355 Spider, seats get hot in sun. Was thinking of AC seats but here in SoCal dont really need air too much so would be a waste.

I know there are some really high tech materials today and would love to give one a shot

    Any thoughts suggestions greatly appreciated.

Alcantara is probably your best bet. If done properly it also should not hurt the value of the car too much.

Alcantara doesn't breathe very well, but otherwise it would work.

also, look at the fabric that was used in the seats of the Stradales and Scuderias.

Meaning, if you scare yourself too much into a corner, it'll never air out?

    All the best,

It's called Technical Fabric, IIRC, the open weave from the Ferrari Scud or Lambo Superleggera.....

I agree. I don't like leather seats. Well, for an office chair maybe.

I recovered my Momo's in the 308 in an open weave like the old Paddy Hopkirk seats (think smooth, no scratchy tight weave burlap). I did the rest of my interior accents with it too so it looks more natural in the car.

But the smooth fabric that came on the Momo's was excellent too. Contact someone like RaceTech racing seats. Their material is uber durable, vacuum cleans and breaths very well. We put in one of their seats then liked them so much we ordered more. They sell the material in bulk too.

I've had good experiences with Noel at Trim-Line Uphosltery in Redondo Beach. Not too far from you. He's done a lot of work for Fast Cars too. Many years of experience with custom jobs. Has a great selection of materials you can look at and feel. His # 310 540-0469.
