Spent Friday PM & Sat AM replacing all three CAT ECU's, Thermocouples & all four O2 sensors on my 355.

Noon rolls around and wife and daughter go shopping for the afternoon....perfect time to take the car out and see if I did any good with my repairs.

I live near the edge of town and I head out past the golf course, then past the pub we go after golf and finally out into the sticks where I let things run out a little bit.

Five miles out of town and out in the cornfields I come around the corner to a nice straight away. Just as I get ready to really wind it up I see someone walking on my side of the road...way out here...WTF?

As I get closer I can make out that it is a woman. As I roar past at about 80 I can see it is a very attractive woman in her late 20's...black high heel boots, skin tight (I mean skin tight) back leather pants, black leather halter top, big designer sunglasses and very long hair tied up in a pony tail.

Once past I glance in the rear view mirror to check out the other side of this surprise only to see her turned around with her arms apart looking at at me like "where you going?"

What anyone would be doing out this far walking is a guess. My initial thought was to turn around and give her a lift to back to town.

But as I started to slow I also started to wonder....I pick up some hottie and then drive to town and what if one of my friends see's this...or worse one of wife's friends see's this. A red 355 is a head turner. Put this chick in it and someone would certainly see us...especially if her road to wherever she is going takes me back through town. This is a pretty tight community and news travels fast....too fast sometimes.

The nice guy in my says stop and give her a ride, obviously she needs a lift....

The conspiracy person in my says keep driving. Trying to explain why you had some 28 year old, leather clad, hottie in your car while wife and kid are out shopping might be more explaining than you can muster.

There are no illusions of anything here. I am a 5'7", slightly overweight, middle aged white guy with an expanding bald spot. Besides....I have 24 years into training the wife I got now and don't want to start over.

But it would be interesting to hear how the hell she ended up in the middle of no where dressed like that....and man, a closer look wouldn't hurt the eyes I assure you....

So, knowing this scenario....what would you do?

It's more than a tiny bit rude to "roar past" someone walking on the side of the road when you're doing 80MPH. She was probably gesturing that you should show a little more courtesy. Yes, I'm serious.

I always move over, if possible, I just like to add some more protection to them and myself. Also, in Texas (not sure if it's in AZ too), you must move over for police cars stopped over, again, if possible, so I've made it a habit to do the same for bicyclists.

And, to answer your question. I probably wouldn't stop. I'm just an ******* like that

Who said anything about dropping her off in the middle of town? Don't they have recreational places in your area on the outskirts of town? I am assuming if you could find one, you probably would not have posted this thread :)
You just passed up a great scene from an 80's movie. LOL

    Did the car run ok?

Stop, tell her you can't give her a ride but you can call her a cab.

I always stop in moments like that. I have wife and daughters and in similar situations for them, I would want the other drivers to stop and help. Good karma comes back to you.

I am single, no bald spot (yet) and no wife or kids.... but

My advice as callous as it may seem would be to stop and ask her if she is ok - if she says yes, keep going - if she says no, offer to call the cops for her or a cab - if you don't have cell signal run to the nearest town and send someone else back for help.

That will allow you to not feel guilty but keep you out of trouble :)

If she dressed that hot and looks like that I doubt she is just out for a walk in the countryside - where I am from I would assume she is a hooker and would definitely keep going - from your desription of the area I doubt that is the case so I would consider a fight with the boyfriend resulting in her either getting (or being helped) out of the car or off the bike. These situations usually result in the guy coming back for her which could prove problematic for you if you are the guy in the Ferrari that just picked her up.

IMHO the situation spells TROUBLE one way or another and I would slow to 40, get a good luck to put in my visual hard drive, and continue to enjoy my drive - but that's just me.

    Cheers

It all depends on how much you value your marriage what you do.Just being seen with another woman in the F Car is a WW3 type of blunder.Me,if I was married,I keep going, theres food & water near by,she will live.If im single shes in & we're gone.Stopping to ask to see if she needs help would test your marriage alot so avoid the AVOIDABLES.The walker will live.As far as you speeding past her,who cares? She must be a helluva a headache to men to be as good looking as you say & using the shoe leather express as a form of transportation.....think about that.

Thanks for the script to my next video...lol.

Actually, I have something similar to this planned for the Testarossa. Just need to find the right model and the right stretch of road in the desert. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if I can pull it off. :)

Oh, sorta like this? It's a Lambo but I think it captures the crazy situation the OP encountered nicely. Hot girl, wants a ride, gets jilted...for who...the WIFE!!! LOL....

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VChOHTfMjTA[/ame]

My Dad keeps bugging me to make a version 2 of this video where I drop the wife at the hotel and loop back to pick up the stranded hottie. So long as he pays for my divorce settlement, I'll film it.

I just wish I had your driving skills - then I could scare the bejesus out of them (safely).

Hey Watson, what did you do? Unless I missed it someone, you never told us what choice you made. I sort of took it that you did not pick her up.

    You are correct.

99.99% of the time I would stop and help. I have changed peoples tires, I have pulled them from the ditch in the winter, I have driven people to gas stations for gas and helped fill the car..heck I even drove a guy to the airport so he did not miss his flight and went back and arranged to have the car towed back to his house.

This one has been bugging me. My heart said, she needs a lift,. My mind was yelling nothing good can come from this. As mentioned....a scam? Probably not. Fight with boy friend? Maybe. He shows up while she is getting in the car....yikes... The list of downside on this was too long....

If she was not dressed like that, it would have been a no brainer. But, that was too much.

I had some discussions with some friends yesterday and they all laughed & agreed. Pulling into town like that would have been problematic.

At first I thought it was because of the car....and maybe that played into it. But truth is the whole situation seemed far too odd for me so I kept going....

I still feel bad about it and why I asked what you guys would do.

Plugzit: As for the car I have whittled down what was 10 P codes down to 4. That might be a separate thread....but the car is getting better every day.
