Have you seen it in person? I thought it was huge from the photos, but the car is not much bigger than the 612. Long gone.
Fact is, that it is bigger than the 612 and that makes it the biggest Ferrari ever produced. And it shows.
It's a different market base. This car's purpose is to eliminate the, "I want to take the Ferrari out today, but..." This car can handle any situation and do it in style. It's an incredible car, but it's not in the same genre as the 458. Why should Ferrari limit themselves to one target audience? I applaud them for branching out. One of my favorite Lamborghini concept cars is the Estoque. I like manufacturers that go outside their comfort zone. As far as the looks, I actually like the lines. You have to get over the fact that it's a hatchback. Once you do, you realize that it's the most stunning hatchback on the market. You have to admit it's far better than a Panamera. And don't even try to compare it to the looks of a Subaru. You have a PM.
That's debatable. For the same reason Gibson's isn't selling Happy Meals. It is not the concept of the hatchback that bothers me (although it is weird for a Ferrari), but what they did with it. Yes, but that's not saying much. Right. Since the Subaru actually won rally races, which is what AWD is for.
Cruised next to this 458 on my way home from Road America yesterday... Had never heard one at speeed, but the burbling exhaust was glorious. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Two nice ones from yesterday: Rapide (dropping off a blonde) Gran Cabrio One I didn't get pics of - white Bentley Continental GT with a body kit and black hood. Has anybody seen that car? Looks similar to the one attached except it was a coupe and had chrome rims (with red calipers). Oh and also a black Gallardo with black rims. Esprit yesterday off Milwaukee on the way to that meet yesterday. Carrera GTS with a GT3 I think body-kit. White, in Skokie. How rare are those GTSs? Looked like this: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5134/5583958758_d98554fb03.jpg (Not my pic)
We should start a Chicago FF debate thread.. but the FF will be sold to people who already own another Ferrari in my opinion. Also they do branch out, they just call them Maseratis
Some spots from today...belive it or not thats my 3rd Qvale Mangusta! My first Dino aswell! Also saw a Panamera Turbo but idk if you guys think its exotic personally I think the Panamera Turbo is pretty exotic Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
exotic compared to a c-class AMG maybe Interesting spot on the Qvale, 3rd none the less, that is pretty rare!
The only modern Porsches that i consider exotic are the Speedster, the GT3/2, and the Carrera GT. Cayman, Carrera, Cayenne, Panamera are not IMO (I own a Carrera..). Same for Bentley Continental and Flying Spur...
