wow, thx for posting! i love how Porsche is still trying to use the 997 camouflage even though its painfully obvious its something new. even though its another 911, its always intriguing to see what they come up with.

I have to say, besides the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder, Porsche has one of the most annoying design teams in the world. I'd like to see more than just basically updated headlights and taillights every time.

I will say, as an old Porsche 911 traditionalist, I'm rather impressed with how much it looks like....a 911.

I like the wheels, I have a feeling the tail-lights will be Aston Martin-esque. I'm not digging the rear windshield wiper, however functional, it just looks horrid.

rear wipers are optional on 911s (and nice to have if you live somewhere rainy/snowy, the angle of the rear window makes water bead up and stay there below 40 mph)

    Looks like a Panamera-style pop-up rear wing.

I like it. While I was looking at the photos, my wife happened to see them and she said the same without any comment on my part. It's not any huge break from the past - reading anything Porsche design related ( e.g. this last Christophoros), they are unapologetically evolutionary vs. revolutionary. But i do like it and especially in the blue.

I think it looks great - a little lower cabin, a little wider stance (or at least that's the illusion from the lower roof).

I want to see a C4S widebody version, and one with a big GT2 spoiler.

    I think it looks H-U-G-E.

Personally, I think the 997 is a spectacular looking car, this one looks like it ate a 997.

I'm sure it will look great in the flesh, but right now I remain firmly on the fence.

I concur. The A-M styling exercise on the rear is a turn off.

It look like they trying to squeeze a 997 shape around a Panamera. Really, nothing special or new.

Everything after the legendary 993, except Carrera GT, is a step below. The 997 had its moments, especially 997 GT3 is very nice, but it's still so basic.

German cars just bore me, they miss the passion of Italian cars and innovation of British cars.

    So, it's Yet Another 911

Are they going to make a 4 cylinder 992?

If the Cayman didn't exist, I think a turbo 4 cylinder 992 would be a good idea.

A Cayman Turbo would be the best idea, but we know why that won't happen.

the longer wheelbase is obvious here. I dont like the way the rear end looks "lifted".
The door mounted mirrors are nice.

I sure hope that ALL 911s are wide bodies.

I wouldn't be so sure; as the 991 goes more upmarket/GT, and Porsche starts making things like the Cayman R, I wouldn't rule out a Cayman Turbo.

The rear just looks off to me. A lot of open space compared to the 997. Hopefully it's just the camouflage.

Personally, I think it's cause of the absence of the "Carrera" badge.

no, the rear bumper is higher (and the engine cover flatter and seemingly longer) than on a 997.

interesting, since this car has a longer wheelbase and theoretically is more mid/rear engined than truly rear engined.

I'm definitely seeing some Aston Martin influence in the new tail light / rear arrangement. I can't wait for it to be revealed! I loved the 997 and I'm sure this will be a proper evolution of the 911, as well. Porsche did well in keeping the manual - a seven-speed, no less.

I've been trying to get an idea of what Porsche is doing with their new designs. I can't put my finger on it...but the Cayman and 911 spy shots both have the same shape (I tossed in the red Cayman, and a red 911 for contrast against the new models).

A lot of the spy-shots make the driver look short...so either Porsche has hired a lot of short engineers, or I think the belt-line is higher (like the new Camaro) the doors look taller and the driver sits lower down in the car?

They've added significant wheelbase to the 991. That's making it look a bit more Cayman-ish; I think that's what you're seeing.
