Um, it says "natural fabric contains visible fibers". It's not on the shirt.

I checked to see if these are cheap Chinese shirts or US Made. I will buy some if the latter. I will let the forum know once they respond.

    "100% pre-shrunk cotton shirt, Hanes "Beefy-T"

Guessing it's a good shirt, but doubt it's made in the US. Nothing is.

Just heard back from the makers. The shirts are made in Haiti, Bangledesh, and Honduras. Hanes makes a decent shirt in Honduras, but there are alternatives made here of higher quality that would not change the retail price at all. Last time I priced imported vs US made, they were almost the same. I do all the logo wear for my company. Hats, T-shirts, and polo's. I only buy US made. You can find it, but most don't bother with the extra leg work to do it. If my company logo is going to be on it, I don't want a tag that reads made in China hanging down.

I like these Come and Race It shirts, just wish it said Austin 2012 or something to let people know what it means. I hate explaining things when it could be self-explanitory.

I'd agree with you on "Made In U.S.A.". As for explaining it, the lone star above the F1 car should be self-explanitory, but the shirt looks cheap as it is. The car should be red, white and blue on a red and blue shirt- with a large white star. I don't like the slogan either. I agree AUSTIN 2012 (perhaps "Inaugural Race" below that) would be perfect.

They are spoofing one of the Texas flags of Independence, (from Mexico) that was monochromatic, black on a white (unbleached cotton actually) field...

Cotton may have been spun in china, woven in honduras, and sewn into a tshirt in taiwan.

But chances are high it was grown in Texas.

I'm a bit of an American History buff, and never heard this one before. Thanks, BigTex. Inside Joke as far as I'm concerned.

China is the largest producer of cotton in the world. They are also the largest importer. US is 2nd largest producer and Texas is probably number one in the states.

It was Mexico's cannon, they wanted it back...

I was Color Guard for the Texas Army last year on Saint Patricks Day, there's a video of it somewhere "out there".....we shot off the cannons downtown......it was LOUD! :D :D
Irish made of the largest part of the Texas Army, and suffered the most casualties.....

It definately is, that's why I responded to the "red, white, and blue" comment.

The final Texas flag is red, white and blue, of course.

    Great thread.

We have adopted a "no china policy" in our household and man, is it tough!!

We went wardrobe shopping yesterday and refused to buy anything with a "made in china" tag.

We bought a grand total of 10 items, leaving a further 50 on the racks.

I refuse to buy any designer anything that has the "made in china" tag affixed.

I believe that we can't b#tch about our country being owned by china and buy the crap they send over...

I'm with you. I buy a lot of American Made Products online. Sometimes you have to take a flyer and guess at sizes for clothes, but once you figure it out, it's no big deal.

I use www.allamericanclothing.com for some items. No affiliation.

Anyways, I try to buy American when available - and like you - try to avoid China at all costs.

Keep it up! All you others out there - try harder!

    :)

You think a no China policy is hard... I also have a no WalMart policy - since they started driving everything to China in the first place. A friend of mine had a first hand experience of being put out of business by WalMart because he refused to move his facility to China.

Have not been to WalMart in over 5 years. Well, I did stop at one about three years ago because I had to pee. They put everyone else in town out of business, so WalMart was my only option. Left my deposit and moved on down the road.

    ;)

Yep, same here. Too many small business owners bankrupt because of them. Stand up for what you believe or be one of the blind followers. It isn't easy.

We, too have a no walmart policy.
We pay a bit more for EVERYTHING, but I think it is worth it for my conscience...
I say no to walmart, except to pee :)

I must have lived in Texas too long, as the play on the Gonzales Banner was pretty obvious to me (you see this flag a lot around here, together with 'Don't tread on me' and 'Liberty or Death'), but you are right, most non-Texans won't get it.. Great shirts!

Love the flag, love the shirt! Unfortunately I live in Missouri, and people here wouldn't get what F1 is let alone the reference to the "Come and take it" flag. :D

It's absolutely impossible to live in Texas "too long"...it can't be done!!!

It only came to Amanda and I driving back from Chicago, that there ARE other states OUT THERE!!!
