I was in the same position and went with the 16m over the 458 and to be honest no regrets while the 458 is an amazing car and unreal performance and more options, I felt it was almost too smooth, if pure sport is what you are after the 16m/scud is the way to go. Either way good luck and if your life troubles mean trying to figure out a 430 spider vs. scud vs 16m. vs 458 then enjoy and be happy you have those troubles. Please keep in mind as the owner of a 16m my views are seriously biases, ask a 458 guy and he will say the same. Mancheseter United just curious aside from just saying he should get a 458 what is your main reason for saying that? If your reason is just money then hands down get a scud couple for 190 give or take 10k the scud is clearly the better buy even next to a 458 imo. I still say go with the 16m, always nice when you drop that kind of coin to have a bit of exclusivity. Regardless any Fcar you go with I am positive you will be happy.

I believe the 5 spoke wheels were first shown/available on the 16M, correct? I remember seeing a few factory shots of the 16M with the 5 spoke Italia style wheels a while back.
I have more then 6000 km experience with the 16 M, she is a beauty beast but very loud for long rides. I have bought 458 I am very happy with this car now its much faster for normal driving because more punch in mid revs and transmission performance, the 16 m makes more fun on high revs because sound, its more a open macho race car. But the real good point is that the 16 M is probably the last fabric roof convertible from Ferrari over years. Its a real collecter car in 10-20 Years I know that the new spider will have a non fabric roof

I have a scud coupe with a 458 on the way and let me tell you, out of all the ferraris i have owned the scud is the best/scariest car i have owned i love it and will never sell it. I have not drove a 458 yet but the people who have, only say that it is the most incredible car they have ever had...im excited
i was just saying if he is going to splash out the cash for a 16m you might want to open your options to a 458...not saying you should just go buy one im just giving a suggestion
16m all the way. its my next car. Right now im am waiting for prices to drop while i enjoy my 430 spider
Go for the 16M I would say, just for the sake of the thrills you will have in it when the top is down. You do understand that it is not a dd, but it will make you feel so special every time you get in it. In my opinion it is worth every penny if you can afford it!
16M, there is the rarity factor and as other have mentioned, the sound is unreal. Went in one around the track and even relatively slow laps the experience was fantastic, far more hardcore than the 430 spider. I can be imagine what a 16M must be like on an empty mountain pass, top down, clear blue sky. Good luck with the search!
