I'm sure it will be the case there will be less people uploading.

It's still to early to say the true impact of the changes, no doubt if enough complain and viewing figures drop off, Bernie may step in.

You are engaging in piracy and an illegal activity. It does not matter if it will be easier or harder!

I guess that means you don't know the answer then. You must not be a user.

    Since when?

You must pay £145 per year like anyone to watch it, no?

The TV license fee in the UK is now UKP145!?.....

I'm sorry, but you m/f'ers should STFU, and make additional donations to the Beeb. [IMHO ;)]

Sat TV + broadband costs me almost the same - Per month.......

    Cheers,
    Ian

Your saying you would be happy to be paying £61 ($100) for each race of the 10 races to be shown pay-per-view sky ?

That is a moot point, you have to pay that whether you watch F1, or not.

As long as there is a PC in your house connected to the internet you are liable to pay that.

Doesn't make it right though, as usual the winner will be Bernie.

For the record the folk I have spoken to that already pay for Sky + sports package, are not happy about it. Those with Sky that have a basic package will not be paying out the extra for the sports package. Viewing figures will take a hit IMO. Whether anyone will be bothered in the long run, remains to be seen.

"'Happy", probably not..... My point is you guys are spoiled! ;)

And, it's not like you're paying 61/race - Sky sports gives you a bunch of stuff - Similar to my Directv sports package (Speed & Fox soccer being the main two for me) - You wanna play, you gotta pay......

I think it's a shame it's not gonna free to air anymore, but it seems like a reasonable compromise to me (?)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Wow, that I didn't know! You're saying what I remember as the "TV license" must now be paid even if I don't have a friggin' TV?

+1 (and the teams of course.)

One of my boys has it, the other refuses to pay..... I dunno the details, but it appears UK TV is heading in the direction we've had here for a long time - You can get the big off air guys for free, but beyond that you start paying extra.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Yes Ian, thats pretty much it, as your lads seem to concur.

Well the BBC contacted me at my business premises where I have no TV, asked if I had a PC, yes I have so they wanted the fee, it's the fact I can access the BBC iplayer or live feeds on it..

    D-a-y-u-m!...... I had no idea that's the case :(

It's not your fault they choose to make the BBC player available! [Reminds me of the guy who modified his TV so it couldn't receive the Beeb, but who was still forced to pay!....]

    I guess it's one license per household/business(location)?

    Cheers,
    Ian

Ahh yes thats the way it is, yes one license per house/business premises, however I have over come the business one somewhat, bit of grey area, my business comes under another business owned by the council and they hold a license, so I argued the case and I'am ok at the min..fingers crossed.

I understand your point Ian, but for me it would be like paying £61+ per race, as the only Tv i watch is F1 and Moto GP (Moto Gp is still on the BBC, for now anyway).

I also only spend around 1/3 of the year in the UK, which would make the price per race even more for me, as Sky's subscription is a minimum of a year.
