Get well Mark!
Oh, man. Thank you for the update, Mike. I am so very sorry to hear this. I really hope to see Mark back soon.
All, As I understand it, Mark is in the Military hospital in Landshtul (spelling?) in Germany. I'll stay in touch with Sylvia, and post any updates as I get them... Mike
It's Landstuhl and that would make sense as I believe Mark is in the KMC of which Landstuhl Regional Medical Center is part. It's the largest US hospital outside the US and he should be in very good hands. Again, hopes, prayers and best wishes for his full recovery. Please pass this thread on when it seems appropriate and keep us informed.
Please relay to Mark and Sylvia our best wishes for a speedy recovery! And if you learn of any needs they may have, please post up right away! Thank you and Chaz for being such good friends to Mark.
UPDATE: Just talked to Sylvia. Mark is doing better. Apparently his breathing is less labored, which is a good sign, and the doctors are starting to taper off on the medication that causes the coma. She said he would still be 'under' for a few more days, probably. So, she was in much better spirits. I passed on our collective best wishes, and she said for me to call any time for updates. I'll call again tomorrow evening. Mike PS - Scott... info was sent, including numbers. Mike
Not been on fchat long and I don't know anyone on here. But I have seen this many times. If his heart is doing well and the pneumonia is responding to the antibiotics, then he will be okay. But it takes time. May God be with you.
Thanks for that, Nathan... I know nothing about CA-MRSA or pneumonia in conjunction with heart surgery... I just know it sounds very scary. Mark is a good guy, and a great American. Retired Lieutenant Colonel from the US Army, and still works for the army in Germany as a civilian. Drives a 308. He and I have a lot in common (military background, etc.), and have not only bantered back and forth here on the board, but also through email, and with phone calls. I always call him when flying through Germany. We can only hope he's 'feelin' the love' here... Finger's crossed. Mike
