He sounds like a great guy. I will certainly be pulling for him. Community Acquired -Methicillin Resistant Staphlococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) is a virulent organism, but it is treatable. I am thankful that the docs know what they are up against. Nathan

My wife picked up MRSA in of all places, a birthing inn. It was on the inside of her finger and was misdiagnosed a few times initially. We all had it colonized up our noses, all of us except our newborn, thank God. We're clean now, but that little patch of skin on my wife's finger acts up to this day, from time to time.

Whoa!! What a time to skip a couple of days!!

Positive thoughts and best wishes to Mark, and a big thanks to Mike for letting us know.

A close friend just recovered from MRSA a couple of months ago, so I know it's rough, but quite doable.

Once you know what it is, it's usually okay, but as a complication with what he's already going through, that's scary.

*whew* - not out of the woods yet, but along with insights from those familiar, that update is reassuring.

    Fantastic update.

As a precautionary measure you should take his P&R away until he's fully recovered :D

I'm sorry he had complications, but it's good to hear he may be improving. I hope he has a full and complete recovery from all this.

Just got off the phone with Sylvia... Good news!

Mark is out of his coma as of this morning, and it looks as though he's going to pull out of it just fine.

The doctor's have said (according to Sylvia) that they will make a determination on a day-to-day basis as to when they will release him.

She said he is very tired, and apparently he needs to start therapy to build his muscles back up... (Who knew that 17 or 18 days in a coma would cause that much atrophy? Wow!)

So.. brighter days ahead... our 308-driving retired LTC is on the road to recovery.

By the way, for all those who asked, the only mailing address that's available is an Army Post Office (APO) address, and the Mrs. isn't allowed to pick up that mail, only Mark. So, I'll get that from Mark when he gets home and is back on line...

I have to say, it feels good being able to write this and give better news than what was the case only a few days ago... Mark's a fighter... and he'll be back on board, hopefully, sooner rather than later....

    Mike
