Not necessarily replaced but modified. You will need to replace the fittings for R12? is what I am guessing. It is true that if you want your AC to cool to its max capacity, the OEM 134 compressors can not achieve that with R12 freon because of the compression variances. Hope this helps. I am not an expert with AC but bring it up to your tech guy to be sure.

If you REALLY want, change all the orings. But it's not really required. Just replace the orings you "upset".

R134A gas is not as efficient as the R12 gas. You need a bigger condensor to get the BEST out of an R134A system in the 348. But it still does get very cold with the standard condensor.

I would replace any orings you remove and that is about it mate. It is not really that big a job to replace all the orings. Just takes time, but from my experience and the other two a/c specialists with over 50 yrs combined experience tell me, it does not really make matter if you dont replace all the orings in the system.

Dont forget to vac down the system for as long as possible. Happy wrenching.

Use R12, not R134. In the US it is readily available, at a small premium.

Change the expansion valve, and flush out the system. When you compressor locked up, it sent lots of small bits of metal through the system in the oil. If you don't flush it out it will plugg up the expansion valve and destroy your new compressor.
