Rubens whining again...

Guy should realize that if he leaves Williams no one will want him. He should be glad to be where he is.

It does seem that he is past his "sell by" date.

 

His experience is enough for him to be where he is, still a fine driver IMO.

 

He's a never-been. Has always been a huge whiner, and IMO, about the last guy Williams need right now to turn around their fortunes. It's always easy to complain rather than put your head down and work. Obviosuly the team is trying by bringing in new parts. Bring back Hulkenberg.

 

Well we will agree to disagree then, I have a lot of respect for Rubens.

 

I appreciate his work for Ferrari, however I get the vibe that he thinks he could have gone toe-to-toe with MS had he been given equal status (LOL). Since Ferrari he has bounced around and whined...just kinda tired of seeing it. If he doesn't want to be a test driver he should retire because after Williams (these days) that is the next stop!

 

No chance he could have gone toe to toe with Michael or Jenson come to that but I still think he is a pretty handy driver, he does moan but what driver doesnt?

 

I think he's unheralded. I have a ton of respect for him and he's done well when pitted against touted rookies. Williams has dropped the ball this year, nothing to do with Rubino.

 

Not so sure with regards to Jenson. RB was holding his own with JB at the beginning of the season in Brawn's debut (only) season. Reliability is what bit Rubens. Now is that because RB is hard on equipment compared with JB,... or was it just bad luck?

I do know one thing,... if Webber had luck like that, he'd be crying sabotage by the team...

I rank Barrichello equal too or above Webber. And Webber / Button is a toss-up as well IMHO...

 

Been down this road before. Only teammate ever to take it to Schumy and whip his ass on the track. If you recall, someone (See: Team Principal) had to ask Rubens to "please slow down and let Michael pass".

He is pissed because he knows his time is short and the car is a piece of ****. Yeah, Hulkenburg LMAO! He comes out for a practice session a few races ago and quickly plants the car into the wall. Nice job.

I never claim that RB is a top flight driver, but he is a solid one and every bit as good as Webber or Button. If you go back and look at the records he has had a very impressive career, and the last time I checked he has 4 times as many points as his teammate.

Thing is JB drove some outstanding races with Brawn, then appeared to ease off as car development ground to a halt (lack of funds I assume) he then put in a outstanding drive in Brazil to clinch his title. Rubens did moan about a few things, I think it was favouritism but end of the day he got beat, and thats what we can go on as fact.

I rate JB higher than Rubens, although I like Rubens.

Then JB was going to get annihilated at Mclaren by Ham was the cry, it's not quite turned out like that...= more +'s IMO.

Webber is a tricky one to rate for me, however his starts are his achilles heel this season. Sometimes he seems stunning super fast and then other times it just all seems to fly out the window.

So I'd rate Button on a par with Webber, both can have very good and very bad days.

I have always liked RB, but he is at the end. Williams as a team might be right there with him. The only way for him to go is down and with Williams he is just making up places right now. Sad, but time does not wait for anyone.

He beat Jenson in the same car in 2008. Rubens was 14th in the final standings, Jenson 18th.

 

Perfect example of why statistics lie.

 

Rubens is having an outstanding career in F1. Just to think he was there back in 1993, when Michael Andretti was trying to get to grips with his McLaren, Sauber made it's first steps into F1 en Michael Schumacher was still without any F1 championships. He has had his fair share of great results. Now he is nearing his 40th birthday. In all honesty, I don't see him changing teams again, nor will Williams be able to turn the tables before his retirement. So, no real sense in going on. It has been a great run but enough is enough.

 

I think he is under rated actually. He did a lot to help Ferrari with their domination in the early to mid 2000's. While he is not even close to Schumy, he should be respected. But he is getting up there age wise for an F1 driver.

News Flash . . . Webber sees black helicopters lifting Vettel's car off the track and moving it farther ahead of him.

 

Reliability and team orders (i.e. extra/botched pit stops while leading the race). I think Rubens has earned his keep in F1. He's just not the guy that a team wants to make its 'lead driver'. I think he does get a little screwed, personally.

This season, er you mean EVERY fncken season, and probably every race he has ever had, except one glorious start at Silverstone last year.

As I've said before if I was the guy that talked to Weber from the pits I would start talking about how Vettel gets all the best bits and you are down trodden looser about 2 minutes before each start. It appears that he tries to be too careful off the line, and needs a bit of fire added to his belly

I would hope that once in a blue moon Rubens would find a better setup than MS and be faster, but to to say that those instances were few and far between is an understatement. Everyone brings up Austria, but lest we forget that MS moved over for Rubens at the 2002 USGP.

I know you love him, but that doesn't change the fact that Rubens has been a top whiner his whole career. I see nothing has changed. Decent points scoring driver, great longevity and could even win if he was in the right place at the right time. I think it's time to hang it up, though.

 

There is a reason for this. Teams don't do it for the hell of it.
