It is getting to be that time of the year, http://www.euro-fest.net I just filled out the online entry and made the hotel reservations, who else is planning on attending?
My son and I will probably make a day trip of it again. I need an excuse to buy some Ole Miss stuff in Jackson.
I'm hoping they figured something out for the people that want to leave early. Maybe we should have a heavy lift helicopter on standby to airlift the BB out if need be.
I was going to try to make it all the way there this year. Are there any kid/family type of activities near the event-- enough to warrant dragging up the entire crew for the weekend?
a Huey on stand by would be nice. Or just plan on staying another night and driving home in day light. Made for a really long day to drive home after the show.
No sarcasm intended here, but obviously you have never been to Jackson, Ms. My advice would to be leave em home, I'm just NOT a fan of Jackson at all. That city is mired down in black vs white, and is about as dysfunctional of a city as you will ever see.
Todd, the event is a great event in a nice area, it is a large shopping center , the wife can shop and the kids can look at cars.
Agreed. Todd, don't worry about this one. The event is in Madison/Ridgeland, and is well worth attending. It is one of the best car show events I have ever been to actually. Plenty for the family to do if they are not that interested in cars, shopping, kids activities, bands, and the entrants really get the 5 star treatment from the organizers. This is about as far away from the usual "Jackson stuff" as you can imagine. We plan on being there. Not sure if I am entering any cars, even if I am a shoo-in for best in class in 7-wheeled Italian car division.
Yep. Euro Fest just reached Official FChat Five-Star Epic Status. FChat does Mississippi?!? I never thought I'd see the day....
All very true, I guess I just was thinking on the lines of getting out and seeing what Jackson had "to offer". But I agree, that part of the city is very nice, just don't go much south of it!
North Jackson is nice. The Hyatt Place host hotel is on site which is really good. The Hilton at county line is a good second choice. I am going again this year and plan on bringing 2 cars. Maybe we can put together a convoy for those running up on Friday.
That's the Exit off I55, to my uncle's house, Madison,MS is okay. I stayed in downtown Jackson as a child, but that been a long time ago.
I'm in and looking forward to seeing everyone again! It's a fun event. For those who haven't been before, the parking is covered, and well lit with security. Best, Paul
Yes- the overnight parking is quite secure. Also during the event, security was out in force. Well run event- I'm looking forward to it. For those coming from the South LA area, we caravan up the Natchez Trace Parkway and it goes right thru Ridgeland. No trucks allowed on the Trace.
Time to bump this thread. When is the group running up the Trace? I'd like to join the slow drive this time.
I think we're planning to meet at 11 at a location TBD. If you want to meet up earlier for some Brunch let me know and we can set something up.
