    Hi,
I have a 355 F1, I cant disable the alarm...it is as if the Fob does not work or something...I was told to replace the car battery and it should resolve the problem...well I did that today and still have the same problem..any idea I am lost here. so the alram goes off and stops after a few minutes however the hazard light continue flashing...if I try opening a door the alarm goes off again....and it goes on and on

I assume you already replaced the battery in the alarm fob? ;)

I recently had a problem with my alarm in my F355, suddenly the central locking started to lock/unlock itself. The day after while accelerating the car suddenly stopped.
My mechanic checked the car and it appeared that some circuits in the fuse box underneath the passengers footwell were damaged.
It took him some time to figure it out, but now she runs like clockwork again. Might be worth checking the fusebox.

There is also a nicad (rechargeable) battery inside the alarm module itself, located behind the front bumper. When this battery can no longer hold a charge, it can sometimes cause problems, though I am unsure if anyone has described this particular set of circumstances. It would be worth searching the archives on this.

My '99 355 had similar problems. That dang Ni-Cad battery that sits inside of the alarm module is famous for failing. When I checked mine it had leaked and destroyed the PC board. So replacing just the Battery at that point was useless. If you are a DIY type you could check it out. I'm thinking maybe a NIMH battery would be an upgrade. In order to get access you'll have to cut open the sealed plastic box that is the alarm unit. It's not a big deal. If you can solder and have some electrical knowledge it is a pretty straight forward process. There are a lot of posts regarding this subject. Good luck.
