Deserve's got nothing to do with it. Kimi earned that title. He should have won at least one, or two at McLaren. He's a better driver than ol' Jacques ever was. He doesn't deserve the name Villeneuve.

It's amazing how sour grapes can turn "talent" into mere "good luck".

To anybody thats says he got lucky, you make your own luck in Formula 1 and Villeneuve should know that. But Kimi's championship wasn't just down to luck he won 6 races (the most out of everybody that season) fair and square and was bloody fast too.

Not that Kimi would listen to him anyway.

    From Kimi in response:

"The only reason Villenueve was driving as long as he did was to keep the Canadian GP on the F1 calendar."

ol' Jacques average WDC placement is 11th if you average them out. Jeez, even Ralf Schumacher average is better. Now who didn't deserve a championship?

Anyone remember how dominant Kimi was in his debut? Kimi won fair and square, and Mclaren's bumbling of the driver's last year is was cost them. Kimi deserved to win at least 1 or two titles at mclaren. God I hate villeneuve

I remember the '05 season with McClaren where he kept getting penalized for engine/tranny issues and would come from dead last, or close, to get on the podium or win. With a better/more reliable car he would have had the title that year.

I'd say the same of Lew Ham of Vettel. Put all these guys in equal cars and it would be a different leader board.

As much as I like(ed) Kimi his WDC was a total gift.
Season sabotaged to keep a rookie from winning it.
Cant have that in the pinnacle of motor-sports.

I dont even wear flame suits any more.
    Just dont care.

Ironically JV's biggest win before F1 was the Indy 500. Late in the race his main competitor, Scott Goodyear, was black-flagged for passing the pace car as it turned into pit lane. Very iffy call, IMO, and I am not Goodyear fan at all. But JV was the darling of the series at the time and the "luck" was on his side that day.
