Fixed it for ya! Bernie tends to lurk in the shadows in such situations....... FWIW, Mad Max is saying he wanted 'em thrown out for 2 years! [He backed down upon realizing 1600 Woking'ites would be screwed apparently.] Cheers, Ian
Oh come on. I agree that it was a gift but as for the season being sabotaged...PLEASE Hamilton choked it away and Kimi capitalized. Simple as that.
It still remains questionable. I mean we are talking about Mclaren here. How can they not change his tyres at the Chinese Gp? And Lewis hitting the 'stall' button at Brazil? And Mclaren screwing up the pitstop strategy? It seems to me they were trying their level best to throw away the title for some reason. Kimi's a great talented driver. Someone his calibre should have won 3 WDCs. Well, combination of his bad luck at Mclaren and a F2008 that didn't suit him contributed to that.
I have always maintained that while that cretin Mosley was running the show, the fix was in. Hamilton choked for a reason. It was just a bit to suspect for my liking.
They were given a fine 100 million dollars if I remember correctly. To their credit, they took that on the chin and remained competitive.
You could probably also say that neither Phil Hill nor Mario Andretti deserved theirs, either - after all, both had help from another's tragic misfortune.
So what? Ferrari, Mercedes, Williams, Red Bull... they all had brain fades. The same one who didn´t see a red light at Canada? My argument against the conspiracy theory in 2007 is still the same: maybe McLaren was asked politely to loose the championship, but why they would want to make themselves look like idiots in the proccess? They could have lost it with style. They even tried to win the championship with that crap of the fuel of the Williams (it was colder than allowed by the rules or something like that). So they made themselves look like sore-loosers too! Sorry, back to the topic: Villeneuve has lost it!!
Mosley was a cretin but I can't believe anyone would say this was a fix. Somehow I think that everyone would consider it ridiculous if Hamilton wasn't involved... But, that's the nature of Ferrarichat.
That is what they did, it was just tooooo suspect IMO. I mean lets face it who would have thought a team would get a driver to smash into a wall to allow his team mate to win, and nearly get away with it. Mosley hated Ron Dennis, you can bet the deal over the office table was 100 mil fine and you don't win the WDC, I could have you kicked out completely, I don't care how you do it, but you go down in last round. Mclaren were caught bang to rights so how could they refuse. Mosley had them over a barrel, Hamilton had the WDC almost wrapped up in China, all he had to do was finish top 5/6 I think.
Maybe one day someone will blow the whistle on the lot with a book, but that will be when Bernie and more likely Mosley is 6ft under ground..
LH can do no wrong on here, I know that. However, it was an epic choke, to suggest anything else is preposterous. What you're saying doesn't make any sense, IMO. Even if that was the scenario (little chance of that happening) Dennis could simply go back on his word and win the title anyway. What's Mosley going to do then...come out and ban McLaren or something due to Ronnie's lack of cooperation? This after the whole thing/fine had already gone down, exposing to the F1 world that Max had attempted to orchestrate a farce and manipulate the results on motorsport's biggest stage but McLaren didn't cooperate? Yeah right. And yes, a tell-all of Mosley's backhand deals throughout the years would be a great read.
And lest us not forget Mosley got his comeuppance with his pants down spattered all over the newspapers...... someone did it..
No don't take it the wrong way with the Hamilton crap, LH does wrong and can do wrong, you know fully well why there has been a back lash on here. You are a fair bloke and dislike Hamilton ...no problem, you discuss all fair points. In regards to your other bit, I hear you fair point, it's just my opinion. You must bear in mind Mosley did and could continue to mither Mclaren IMO the sport got alot better when Mosley and RD left. Also the win in SPA Hamilton/Kimi thing had taken of him was completely pathetic. Yet again Mosley over ruling stewards and Whiting.
OMG...some of you should start writing science fiction for a living. You'd make a fortune. I can't believe an adult can make up some of the fairy tales I'm reading here. anyway....let's be honest, does anyone REALLY think JV said this? It would be such a stupid thing to say that it's hard for me to believe. Of course, I don't know the guy, and maybe he really is that stupid.
Ask Flavio he makes fairy tales come true.. Now if that hadn't come to light with NPJ opening his clap trap, and someone like me suggested it happened you'd say the same.. As for JV who cares..
I don't think so Kimi. Canadian GP does very well thank you very much!!! With or without Gilles's kid.
Keep in mind where Jacques was when he made those comments--pathetic pandering to the local press. JV resides among my all-time biggest disappointments. He's a has-been whose run at the top was disappointingly-short, derailed by several factors for which he was mostly responsible. The only interview I want to see with Jacques is the one where he details all the regrets he has for all the bad decisions he's made throughout his career. People will get up in arms over comments from past champs like Niki Lauda or Jackie Stewart, but at least everyone agrees they earned the right to levy opinions. Jacques needs to stop thinking that he accomplished more than he did.
