Don't have his address, but a good meeting place might be the Home Depot parking lot at Old Peachtree RD and I-85.

Thank you, to all, for your support and kindness. Not sure he will be home Sunday. 50/50 chance. Will let you know release day. I feel it will be up to Brian to give the details to all that has happened. He will be walking out of here when time comes with his own two feet and that is what is important, also your BLESSINGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't mean to leave you guys hanging, yet don't want to step out of my boundaries with this.

I don't know the man, and have never met Brian, but anytime a racer can walk away from a serious accident is a great thing to hear. I wish him the best, and continue to pray for a full recovery!

Same goes for the driver of the Mustang. I'm sure it can't be easy on that guy either.

Brian just had 2nd surgery to repair a bone fragment around his left eye. He's out of recovery & back in his room resting. The doc says he should be released tomorrow or Sunday. Craig will be posting shortly with more info.

Brian now has a titanium plate in his cheek, below eye socket and above eye socket. Moved fragment of bone in lateral orbit, meaning bone around eye slightly back from eye opening. Also traumatic head injury. Yes the penetration of the left mirror stand off is responsible for facial bone damage. Sorta of like being shot. Internal bruising of muscle in left shoulder. As of 430 pm on Friday have no solid release date for him. Initial inspection of car shows left front ( impact area ) torn loose and right rear of cars suspension damaged. right front and left rear suspension show no signs of impact damage. The tub has superficial damage on left front corner. roll bar not showing creasing or major impact damage. All standoffs and attach points on tub intact, don't see any skin stress, buckle or creasing.. no visual leaks noted from any component after 2 days. Mind you, this is initial investigation, viewed from 5 feet back ( car in trailer). once car disassembled a much more accurate inspection will reveal true nature of damage.Body work is body work. The HANS device did exactly what it was supposed too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Neck bruised and sore, that's the most damage there !!! Please feel free to personally contact me thru forum if needed.

Any visitation would be greatly appreciated. we need to keep him conversed and to get moving around per doctor. Familiar faces and voices might just do him a world of good .

    Leigh,
It was good to meet you today, Brian seems to be doing pretty good! Hope he will get home soon! Let us know if we can do anything else for him when he gets home. we need to plan a "Tear down & rebuild party" for his Norma.

still getting mixed info on if it was cool down lap. Im hearing checkered went out for front of field yet guys in back were still under race conditions, then also hearing it was cool down lap ???????? We know the name of the other driver, he is not hurt yet very shaken and upset about all this. My heart and blessing go out to this gentleman also. I have not personally spoken with driver mentioned. Im sure all the details will come to light with time.

Thank you all for the photos. I agree a tear down & rebuild party is a good idea. I think Brian will come home in the next couple of days. He definitely is doing a lot better now.

I paid Brian a brief visit this morning. Aside from complaining of being tired, he seemed in good spirits. I arrived as he was about to take his first walk since being there; I followed behind as he made his way slowly down the hall and back with his wife and his nurse. At least he has a bright top-floor room with plenty of natural light and a nice view of downtown (which he probably can't enjoy right now). He thanked me for coming and I hope that others in the area will visit him as well. As of now there is still no word on when he might go home.

Spoke with Craig a little bit ago. Brian's up, alert, been making phone calls all morning. Still no confirmed release date yet but we think it'll be sooner rather than later!
