Hi Everyone, I am thinking about driving my 1995 348 spider (Eva) out from California to Texas in September to visit my parents who live in a little town called Springtown. It should be a fun drive and I wanted to find out what car gatherings there might be that are anywhere near Springtown, heck even not so near that I might try. It's just more opportunity to drive and a chance to meet some new people If anyone can help, please let me know. Thanks so much, Jeff
I have not locked down the exact time frame yet although I was thinking about more towards the end of the month as I wanted to try and go see the Cowboys play on Monday night football on the 26th.
For those like me who are wondering "where the hell is Springtown" . . . Image Unavailable, Please Login
From California to Texas in a Ferrari is a heck of a long drive!!! Good for you. I have driven many, many times between Dallas and SoCal but never in a Ferrari. Safe travels.
That would be "me'....LOL! I have done "California to Texas"...drink PLENTY of fluids!! It was fun!!!
Not really all that far from the Panther City, in fact that was one of the stop offs during the 2005 Rally. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57696 Good times.
A member on DFWAC took his 911 GT3 on a trip from DFW-LA, up the west coast to Seattle, then back through Nevada on US 50 (dubbed the loneliest road in America), then Utah, Colorado, then the Texas Panhandle. The best part? He documented the WHOLE trip with pictures and his thoughts. I'll post a link to that thread later.
Thanks everyone for the input so far. Yea I know Springtown is a bit unknown lol but my parents have a nice 10 acre ranch there with horses and they like being off the beaten path. I on the other hand want to check out some local garherings while I am there visiting so I don't go stir crazy from the isolation. I'll post up when I have a firm date time frame. Jeff
If you make it down south or decide to see Galveston, give me a shout, you and the car are welcome to our guest bedroom and I'm sure we can open up a garage spot
