360 modular wheels on a 348 speciale-done

It may have been a PITA Paul but it looks like it was worth it, very nice !!

 

Do you have a shot looking straight down the side to show the relation of fender to wheel? How much material is left between the mounting surface and the lug seats? 18mm is a decent amount of material to have removed.

It looks fantastic, these are the wheels I'd love on my F355.

 

You make me proud, dude. After all the machining, are you near the same offset as the stock wider 348 SS/Spider rear wheels?

 

Wow, what a difference! I never liked those wheels on the 360, but I really like them on the 348 - they fit very nicely and look like they belong on the 348 much more so than on the 360.

 

That's plenty of material remaining IMO. It sounds nice and safe.

I installed the 360 modular wheels onto my 348 a couple of months ago. I really love the look. For now, I do not plan on machining the back sides of them down. The front wheels are basically where the stock wheels would be with spacers. The rear wheels are out much further than the stock wheels but the tops of the rear tires are still just inside the top of the wheel well lip.

Verify please if 360 wheels will fit 348ts, standard wheels. As I have a chance to purchase 360 wheels to mount on my 348.
Or will they require the mods of which you wrote.
I have a set of red wheels of the same design you show. Your car looks great by the way.

My question of mounting 360 wheels on my 348, direct bolt on or special mods to fit, 348 wheel bolts reused? Stock wheels are best with 25 mm spacers rear, front, no spacer.
So I would assume that front 360 wheel needs machinging down 10 to 15 mm to equal stock 348 wheels and the 360 rear would be perfect as is to equal the 25 mm reccomended spacing on the 348 wheel.

I have stock 360 wheels on my 348 TS SS and they fit fine. They may be a bit further out in the rear than my stock wheels but they are good. Next time I put the stock wheels back on for a Concours I'll measure the relationship to the wheel well lip and respond on Fchat.

I had them on my '91 TS. I bought a set of lugs that were about 10mm longer as I recall, but everything else was fine. The stock front 360 tires are too wide, and will rub if you don't get some more narrow ones, or "roll" the fender lip.

 

I did the same wheel install but had the wheels powder coated F red to match

Did anyone got a picture of the hubs after they are milled down? Is there realy enough material to remove 10-15mm? On nearly every wheelhub i looked in my life the material strength was arround 5-10mm befor the "cylindric cone" where the wheelbolt attaches too begins. So if i mill down 10-15mm i remove some material of the cone and the wheel bolt will be partially in air and not torquing down the wheelhub. Or did the 360 wheels realy have much material on? Or maybe do you removed some material of the cone and it is still stable enough to hold the wheel? That would realy interesst me because i'm in a similar situation with some other wheels where i need to get the offset 10mm more in at the back because the wheels stick too much out. At the moment im at Offset 53mm with a 11,75" x 19" Wheel. And like to get to 63mm.
