Okay, so maybe it's not quite an orgy - thanks to Filipo, we have one: 182158. But with only 80 made, we should be able to identify all of them...

...right? Who's with me? C'mon, one down, only 79 to go. :)

It's a fun and interesting hobby, tracking Ferraris, watching where they go, observing the patterns that arise, enjoying the history created by each car.

Same reason the vintage guys collect serial numbers on 250 GTOs. :)

Hi NNO.. We do also know that the Paris car was 171212, and there have been many pics of 181809 (Blu Elettrico?). That US-spec Avorio/cioccolato? car is amazing..

If you feel such a strong affection towards Ferrari wouldn't it be better idea to work on owning your dream F?

There is more about Ferrari than just owning one.

I am aware of that and really don't want to offend anyone. I'm just having a hard time imagining how collecting serial numbers is part of the journey!

    But "suum cuique"

Sorry for not being able to provide you with numbers!

Because that is what Carbon does for F-Chat. If you want to know just about anything Ferrari related numbers wise, he is the guy. That's why it says "consultant" under his name.

There is a service that is associated with Serial numbers. If there is one repository of serial numbers and car history, you have good information on the car's history--which can add value to you. It adds value to you if the car has been wrecked--anybody remember Eddie Griffith--and it can add value to the car if the history is clean.

Parker, thank you! Please keep the information coming! My computer just died this morning, but I'm hoping to be back up and running soon!

It's not. Collecting serial numbers is a hobby, one that dates back to before I was born. It has afforded me great privileges, like commiserating with owners, racers, historians and other enthusiasts. It also gives me an opportunity to help those currently in the market, steering them clear of poor examples or cars that are otherwise misrepresented.

Just this morning, I was contacted by someone looking for a Stradale. He found one on eBay, touted as a mint, pristine, completely unmolested car. But it was actually PPIed a few months ago, and accident damage was discovered.

I can see how the owner of such a car wouldn't want serial number collectors to have that information and/or the serial number. But it's invaluable to potential buyers.

Whoa, hold a minute here! I thought my consultant status was due to my charming and witty disposition. I'll be speaking to Rob about this.

Thanks for the heads up, Carbon! In somewhat distant future I want to start my own little collection with cars like a 360CS, a 430 Scuderia and a 599GTO. Would be wonderful if you could help me track some down then - I have very specific ideas about the configurations!

No problem, I'd be happy to help. You know where to find me. :)

Yes! Those matricola plates bear the serial numbers this thread seeks! The serial number is simply the last six digit of thie VIN. Great work, Danny; thank you. :)

There is a red with white striped one in Monterrey right now. I just saw a picture of the rear end.

Can you recheck the first number, because I have 171212 as a US California that's been here for almost two years.

I'd swear I have a pic of the under the hood chassis # plate, but I can't find it..(upgrading my storage and consolidating data right now) It is entirely possible I am mistaken, as it would not be like Ferrari to use the same chassis number for two entirely different cars :)

Richard's SA is featured in the November road and track but there is no mention of the serial number.
