what is this "rain" thing you speak of?
The A/C finally died here,I called a repairman & he won't be here until later this evening. Great, fearing now on how much this is going to run me.
Texas sucks, especially after living here all my life. Dallas is nothing but a big concrete jungle. I'd have moved away from TX years ago but my wife wants to stay here.
I'm starting to understand why some of my friends have moved to Colorado or just work there in the summer months, this extreme heat will most likely continue possibly to mid-September. Crap I'm getting sick of this.
I honestly haven't been bothered by the heat last couple weeks, think I finally adjusted although summer is about over.
My cars don't rust, my shoes don't have a salt stain line around them, there isn't a layer of dirt and grit covering everything once the snow melts, I don't have to have a complete extra cold weather wardrobe, it isn't wet and slushy for a solid month after dealing with the 5 previous months of freezing cold snow, I wear gloves to work in not to keep from losing fingers to frostbite (ever drop your keys in a snowdrift?), I get fresh fruits and veggies 365 days a year, my wife doesn't wear much when the temps rise, I get to use my pool more than just 2 months, and I get to drop the tops on all my convertibles for months on end. Is it hot for 60 to 75 days in a row? Yes, very. Is it better than being cold? No question.
My kids started school Monday. My oldest has 2.5 hours of soccer 'conditioning' at school every day from 3:00 to 5:30. Then he has practice Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:30 to 9:00 for his club team. The youngest just started football season. Practice every day, helmet and shoulder pads, 3:00 to 5:00. I can manage the heat. I don't know how they do.
Just in time!!! A few more years, and you'll adjust to "Texas Climes" Amen!! A true Texan (although, it has been a tad too warm during daylight to have the top down for a couple of months)
