I posted in the Silver Subscribed right after it happened - now that the news is out, just curious who in the area felt it.

I was in my home office - definitely felt the house shake...enough to realize something was wrong. Pretty interesting stuff!

Felt it here in my NYC office. I felt dizzy for a few moments and at first I thought I was simply experiencing ferrari withdrawl (haven't driven the car in 3 days), but then noticed the window blinds were moving back a forth a little bit... :)

Yea, I felt a little disoriented...definitely odd in that regard.

Felt it in Central NJ - we left the office building because we thought the building was collapsing since it's old - no clue it was everybody and a quake. When we got outside and saw everyone else outside, we realized what happened.

Yep, I am in central NJ, and we felt it pretty well.

I have a contractor working on an addition to my house, and at first I thought it was him. Reality set in and I said - not possible. I went out and asked if he felt it and he said "yes".

It just so happens that a sinkhole formed near the street by my house as a result of the storms we've been having. The Public Works Dept. was there working on fixing it, and I then thought it was that - like "holy cow my house is going to sink", but they said everything is fine underneath.

It was then that it was announced over their radios that we had an earthquake. Somewhat surreal, but not that shocking. We're really due for the "big one" according to "experts"...who knows?

I felt it at my office located in Harlem. They had us evacuate, but were let back in after about 10 minutes.

Was sitting in my Benz in Wycoff Heights Brooklyn when my car started to bounce. Thought there was something wrong with my engine so I turned it off. Car was still bouncing. Then I thought someone was messing with me by bouncing my car. Wasn't it either. An earthquake in NYC!!! Who would have thought!

We felt as though a large truck went by, and made the building shake, but after 10 seconds we were convinced the building was collapsing. It lasted about 30 seconds and was definitely noticeable. Our technicians watched the cars they were working on rock back and forth on the lift....ahhh just another day in paradise!

I was on the 39th Floor of Chase Manhattan Plaza at my desk. The building felt it sunk down and I thought I was just dehyrdrated or my meds were off. My wife called 1 minute later from Tarrytown, NY and said there was an earthquake. I immediately went downstairs and within 5 minutes the crowds started to grow. No cellular phone calls could be made and data was so slow. Very weird experience. Odd considering it happened in Virginia. I'll never forget the odd feeling.

Felt it here in my office in Livingston, NJ. At first I thought it was a truck going by, or the AC unit rumbling, and then felt a bit disoriented, and it passed in a few seconds. A few minutes later, someone came down the hallway saying there had just been an earthquake. I've experienced earthquakes a number of time in California. This was mild compared to what I've felt in CA.

My daughter lives and works in Maryland, right outside of DC, and she said they really felt it down there, that there was no question what it was, and that people were really scared by it. But she said no real damage and no injuries, just a bunch of scary shaking.

I believe I was in my car in Cresskill NJ when it happened and I didn't feel a thing. I did see some police cars racing around with their lights and sirens on at the time that it happened though.
