The real thing, and quite recently, and still rather active. Also, Coultard speaks very well, he has class. As for the topic of this thread, I did not watch qualifying, but separating out comments here from those that just do not like LH and will bash him everytime, it seems everyone here puts the blame equally on both drivers. So why does only PM get a penality? Ideas?
Using Mansell and Piquet as examples of mature drivers? OMG Piquet had a boxing fight on public TV at the German GP and Mansell was the whining cry baby of an entire generation. And lets not even talk about Piquet's off the track behavior trying to smear Senna's name in that infamous interview with Playboy (or Penthouse?).
Read before speaking. I am talking about the driving, not off track rants or activities. Racing hard with one another is fun to watch when it's man to man, not when it's just Lewis thinking he owns the whole track and driving into unsuspecting competitors, like he does time and time again.
Pastor Maldonado has been hit a five-place grid penalty for the incident involving Lewis Hamilton in the second session of qualifying at the Belgian Grand Prix, while Hamilton has been given a reprimand. ___________________________ What a joke!
Hamilton move was abit aggresive, ok maldonado is slow and leave a gap but hamilton put his car again difficult for others. For this maldonado is clearly not happy and there it goes. Very childish and stupid move so does bad press for him and the team. I think in just seconds he thinks no point i whine to stewards why not just play bumper car the way hamilton love lol
Called it 70/30 on Pasta, naturally Red 5 agreed with me, although I would have preferred reprimands to both or better yet, as Tif12 suggested, cash to worthwhile causes.
I would have preferred to see both start from the last row,... side by side. Then it would've been fun to watch Hami push through the field. That would have been good for a couple drive-thru's and another reprimand.
Seems like a contradictory statement. On the one hand, you correctly point out that Hamilton has been penalized more than any other driver on the grid. Then you preceded that statement by intimating that "Ron Dennis' boy" got his customary favorable treatment. I think Steve (Kraftwerk) has it right: drivers are responding to LH's aggressive driving by challenging him back. Seemingly the stewards are suggesting there was no reason for Maldonado to go there. As far as favortism goes, I can't believe ANYONE would suggest that Hamilton has received the benefit of the stewards' rulings.
Blah, blah, blah, you always seem to be on here to knock Hamilton or McLaren and add nothing productive. Whatever, thank god the stewards don't share your view. Are you even sure you are even old enough to have watched the races when Racing was hard?
On one of the rain masters: Vettel Not terribly original, but I think he is finally due for a victory, particularly if it is mixed conditions. It is me driving, but the car belonged to fellow FChatter Peter K. This was last fall shortly before he traded it in for a 599 GTO. It was a mind blowing experience: The car on the track as well as his enormous generosity and trust.
Well you still owe me a visit, and we can take mine out to Fontana when they have a club day event, even though it is just a 430 and not a Scud!
Strike "just" please. They're all incredible machines. Thanks for the great offer! I love sampling cars AND tracks. Had a chance at driving a 430 once as part of the Dream cars tour. What game has Fontana? I'd like to come prepared.
You know I have done a couple of Porsche events there and the road course they use and part of the oval is pretty cool. They also have a Kart Track there, haven't been on that. They also set up a Gymkhana course with cones for timed events on a different section for Clubs and Manufacturer Events.
You prove to be as mature as Mr. Hamilton. Please do not go to personal attacks when someone disagrees with you. If Hamilton drove like ****** today, don't match him by acting the same on this forum. Your cheap shot at my experience as a fan is so transparent and moronic, it almost doesn't deserve a response. As far as how long I have been watching F1, who cares, but obviously long enough to have watched the match-up's I speak of, and long before those. Who made you the Grand Puhba of F1. Hamilton was in the wrong with his driving style, and they both were in the wrong for the post quali incident, but to only slap PM with the penalty, is bias to say the least.
Amazed that PM didn't get thrown out of the race. I accept that Hamilton will have got his back up with the pass at the bus stop, but PM should have been mature enough to swallow his pride at being shown up. Instead, he caused an accident when the track was red, and which could very easily have caused injury to innocent spectators or marshals. I can only conclude that mansell's dislike of Hamilton compelled him to go easy on PM. This sets an unfortunate precedent for all other drivers. Poor stewarding.
More important things to do than to stare at a computer screen, hoping I satisfy your answer need. I am over it, give it a try. No intelligent person would say Hamiltons driving at the last corner was proper, and no intelligent person thinks the incident with PM anh LH was a good idea either. However, Hamiltons improper overtaking maneuver was the spring board for the incident, and for that he should've also been penalized. That is called "my opinion" not yours. Thats the beauty of this, we can all have our own opinion, but insulting people because they don't agree with one another, does not make FChat members look good, and in fact makes them look quite classless.
You say that as if being "Ron Dennis' boy" would incur any favour or preferential treatment. Quite the contrary, and has been the contrary for at least 5 years. Max Mosley hated Ron Dennis and as a result McLaren and McLaren drivers, the only reason Alonso wasn't fined and banned in the Spygate incident is because he agreed to fink on McLaren - don't forget it was Alonso who was complicit in Spygate, not Hamilton. It is a frankly ridiculous assertion to suggest that Hamilton gets any special treatment from the FIA, and even more ridiculous to suggest that it's because of Ron Dennis. Have you watched F1 at all in the last 5 years???
Just my 0.02, but Hamilton DOES get special treatment, no one could have the number of dubious accidents and incidents he has had this year and get away with a few tactically set up drive thrus. Hamilton is looked after by the fia much more than he should be, mainly I the because f1 try's to be too PC these days and is terrified on the backlash
