This one was there when I bought my 328. It was the first one I ever sat in. Nice interior and low miles. Any ideas on why it is still for sale going on 3 years. Something must be wrong for it to be sitting that long. Is it priced to high? Love those Countachs. Always a dream since I was in high school.

I think the main reason is because all of the body skirts attached to it. It is the model that is most far removed from the original much beloved design. There was a recent cover article in Classic Car Magazine I think that compared three iterations of the Countach, the original LP400, a mid 80's 4-valve and an Anniversary. The consensus was that the Anniversary model had lost a lot of what made the Countach so great not just appearance-wise but also driveability.

I am no expert on prices but the car advertised seems overpriced.

Is it US legal? I know it's easy to drop 20-40 K on engine issues overnight.

The anniversary edition does have more body additions but I kind of like it except for the front bumper. After 3 years you would have thought the dealership would get smart and lowered the price accordingly. Three years just sitting is no good for the car or good business sense.

It would be interesting to know what kind of offers if any the dealership has turned down....hard to justify the asking price on a car that HASN'T sold in 3 years....What economy are they living in?!......Mark

WRONG!!! Many agree it is the best driving car without doubt. The 2 valve injected car would rank as perhaps the "least loved car" if there even is such a thing.
Perhaps it is your least loved car but many people do actually really like the outrageousness of the 25th.

I think there is a variant for everyone amongst all the different ones. I have sold Annivesarios to at least 2 clients who would consider nothing else.

  13. One thing about the 89's. The seem to stay at a near constant price, increasing a bit each year. They don't just drop, or rise dramatically from what I have seen. They are the most stable price wise of the bunch imo. If you read all of this internet dribble, it's always the same. A low body or nothing. A dd or nothing. A carbed version or nothing. A 5000s with no wing or nothing. A 89 version or nothing. A white one or nothing. And please, no red. It looks like many have chosen the nothing. Their loss. Having any version of the Countach in your garage is my answer. Ideally I would like to own, at one time or another, a version of each. Its all subjective. It's like picking your favorite kid. A smart father loves them all. Equally :)

Well said. As I have said several times, with all the variants, there is something for everyone. Check your budget and act accordingly.

I own a DD Anniversario number 002 and after owning a 2 valve carbed car, driven all other variants, I can say the 25th is the car for me. Perhaps not the best of the lot for dramatic appreciation but certainly for overall driving and appeal. The Countach is the most outrageous car ever made and the 25th is the most outrageous variant.
These cars are destined to hit the stratosphere (all of them) so those that wait for a few bucks here and there will miss a great ownership opportunity.
    An icon in any version!

Seriously ? Are you twelve years old ?

Let me school you on reading comprehension.

    - I never said anything absolutely. I said 'probably' and that is based on my experience watching prices and talking to dealers/owners.

    - I never said I didnt like it or that it was *my* least favorite. I was simply providing a possible reason why it hasnt sold.

    - I never said it was a bad car or that it wasnt the best driving (I personally dont know).

    - I never said it was *hated*. I said 'least loved'. Everything has a rank in life. If you line three supermodels up and tell someone to rank them 1 to 3 , one of them will place third. Doesnt mean she isnt still a supermodel.

So put aside your insecurities, grow up and understand people have opinions and they may not always agree with yours.

I love driving the 80's Countaches...they are great cars. But if I owned one -- frankly -- I'd strip all the bodywork off and just start over. Try to retain what I could of the lp400 looks, but get rid of all the "flop-doodle." ("flap-doodle?" can't remember which... but I'd get rid of it :)

    Agreed.

I was driving today with a QV and an LP400.
    They were truly beautiful.
Best thing is take probably the most refined being the anniversary and pull all that crap off if it's possible.
