Are they actually making these or what?
Yup. I've seen pictures posted here. Check the French section Nikki beach St. Tropez thread for pictures of a burgundy one 77. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140698631&postcount=101 http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140700129&postcount=104
Spotted this one in Carmel, California last week: http://www.flickr.com/photos/stradman/6077370950/in/photostream
This is the pink one I was thinking of but more impressive is the two Cygnets I spy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sae this one at the Lugano Aston Dealer...what a car. Really really impressive. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, u concur. I saw a silver/grey one driving up Ocean Ave in Carmel as I was driving down Ocean Ave after the Concours on the Ave event.
That thing's piping would make a plumber jealous, and every other aspect of the interior looks like it was designed out of a fashion magazine. There's a different kind of desire I have to see one of these. A curious, don't-tell-the-wife kind of desire that I could only express with baby-oil.
Speaking of internet pornography, this is supposed to be on TV sometime soon. If anybody gets a full stream, please post! http://www.autoblog.com/2011/09/01/aston-martin-one-77-stars-in-new-episode-of-natgeos-megafact/
Great pics of the "details": http://thethrottle.thechive.com/2011/10/09/one-77-to-drool-over-20-hq-pictures/ Sample below, more at link. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Pricey. 1.5M$? Saw it at the AM preview. Supposedly a saudi prince bought several for his family after the official run was sold out. Ed
One-77s are astoundingly awesome. The shape, the sound, the interior, the details - it's all very exquisite. It's almost a shame to put a body over that chassis. I was at Millbrook when they were testing one in "The Bowl" - you'd have thought there was a Spitfire/P-51 flying just beyond the horizon. Totally incredible.
Yeah - I think that's right. And - IIRC, he paid $2M+ each, as Aston didn't want to sell ten to one person. So he said, "what if I pay $2.5M each?" to which I'm guessing they replied, "what colors would you like?" That pink one is a problem. That's not even really pink - it looks like Crayola "flesh" color. Still - I'd take one in "hail damage."
Thanks for postin those!! I knew the car had a CF chassis but didn't reallise it had a hand formed aluminium body. I love it even more now +1.2M
There are some really subtle details in that hand-formed body, too - that I didn't realize until I was standing next to one... ...the panels all have raised welting that follows their edges all around door openings and window openings. It's gorgeous, and it looks impossible to do. They really are a marvel.
Just saw the Nat Geo Megafactories feature. Best of the Megafactories series yet, but I missed more engine noise (all those moving shots were very muted........) My mind is BLOWN away. This is an exceptional supercar on par with nothing less than the Veyron. Maybe even better, it terms of details. Even the Zonda's and Koenigsegg's don't compare in terms of engineering perfection and artistic pornography. This car truly is 5x the car the regular top model DBS is, meaning it's really is "worth" the extra money. It will put a Zonda to shame and that was my favorite car where I enjoy studying the details. The respect for what Aston Martin is capable of just went up... like 20 notches. To me, Aston Martin was always a favorite brand because the cars are so beautiful and sound so good. But I never thought of Aston Martin as a company capable of something spectacular. Also became a big fan today of Dr. Ulrich Bez. What an enthusiastic aura that surrounds this man. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulrich_Bez I need a cigarette. And a 1/18th scale model of it to have right here on my desk. And a big poster of it in my garage.
No kidding!! "While at Porsche, he led Vehicle Research and Development and motor sport programmes in Formula One and World Endurance Championship in Indianapolis and Le Mans. He directed design and development of the 911 Turbo, the Carrera RS 2.7, the 968 and the 993."
