Whats up? Im so tired of prices going from $1.20 to $1.90 a gallon.
I think they do it just to let us know who's boss. Nothing else flucuates
that much, Whats up?? If we don't hurry up and burn all the fuel up,
how are we ever going to find a new source of energy for cars?
I guess the war didn't help prices.
So what does it cost where your at? And how do you feel?

    O.K. Im better know :)

The oil companies really piss me off regarding this. Their reasoning is that they have a few processing plants that are doen for 'maintenance'. Supply is lower so the prices go up! What other industry on God's green earth could ever get away with this? If I shut my company down for two weeks, I can't raise my prices during that time and expect to get it! Why should the oil companies be able to do this and why does our government step in and tell them to stop this practice!

Gas in AZ is bumping $2.00 a gallon for regular unleaded. The BS of this is they say that 2 refineries are down in California. the last surge we had here was due to a shortage from a broke pipeline coming out of El Paso Texas..

I say it is a bunch of BS that they are handing us in order to boost the oil companies profits.

Keep in mind that we paid $1.20 15+ years ago. With inflation, $2.00 is not all that bad, but does not lend any excuse to the oil companies that bend us over three or four time a year. Kalifornia also has Oxygenated fuel that the politicians shoved down our throats three years ago with the MTBE additive. It's now showing up in our watersheds. That additive added about $.25 per gallon here. Again, the 'environMENTAList’s hard at work, screwing up our health!

Gasoline Taxes are ussually half of the cost of a gallon of gas.

I am probably one of the few who supports higher gasoline prices.

I do not think the gov't should get to higher prices by taxxing gasoline more. The free markets are doing a great job of it. More people driving and the same supply should bring 4.00 inside of four years.

The mindset that to get anywhere you must get into a car that has evolved over the last 35 years has made for an unhealthy culture of traffic jams and more land being devoted to parking lots then parks. A nice spike in gas prices might help change this.

It seems to me that oil companies may more money when the price they pay for imported oil is low. The reason is that when prices are high, they keep their margins low so as to no totally agitate the public. When the price of oil falls, they make a lot more profit because the public is happy and unwittingly are paying a higher profit margin without knowing it. So long as the bottom line is low, the public does not investigate. When the price goes up due to the cost of imported oil, the public and politicians get thier microscopes out.

$1.97 for 91 octane in Utah. I then drove down to the freeway and saw a gas station that was selling 91 for $1.81, I know here I am going. I remember about 5 years ago prices were under $1.00 for a short time. It was so nice to watch the gallons go up faster than the money on the pump.

Lets see, gas are prices up at least $0.75 for supreme (in socal anyway).

The average tax refund is up $100 per yesterdays news from the IRS.

I guess that means that the average tax refund increase under the Bush tax plan are effectively given directly to the oil companies when the average customer consumes 133 gallons of gas.

    Coincidence?

$1.79 for 93 here in savannah ga. if it does go up to $3-$4 i am getting another sport bike. i promised myself i would never get on another one, but to hell with these oil a$$holes.maybe i should get one of these newer super efficient cars and get a 308 for fun on the weekends. i stated in a thread a while back that high gas prices will affect muscle car and exotic car resale prices. hope i am wrong.

I've been giving more than my fair share of my hard earned money to the oil companies. My winter hobby is snowmobiling and I have to run premium in my sled which costs 1.96 at the 7-11 nearest to me. The last two winters gas has seriously spiked. I average about 100 miles on a day out and I get about 10 miles to the gallon.
